On checking your reservation it was a small room, which are located in the annex and you would certainly get your steps in, we are normally able to offer upgrades to our standard doubles, which are considerably larger, however on the dates you were here we were fully booked. Room was filthy, under the bed not hoovered and the bed side cabinets not dusted. Only 1 plug socket we could use was at entrance to the room (an extension needed)as the one at the back of TV unusable as there is a dado rail which meant the plug wouldn't fit right in. Ran the bath I closed the door to grab something from room and the bathroom door was jammed panicked as thought we were going to flood the place. Luckily we managed to get it open!! Positive was the bar and grill great food and helpful staff!! Place in general looked run down and unkempt very dated!! Reception staff brilliant also!! The rooms and bathroom need to be booked at!!

More parking would be an improvement but I regularly choose to stay at the hotel as it’s comfortable, clean, the staff are friendly and it’s good value for money

Super friendly staff. Nice big room with comfy bed. Only thing missing was there was no plug sockets by the bed so had to charge my phone on the table by the mirror - meant I had to actually get out of bed to turn off my alarm and couldn’t scroll through my phone in bed while it was low on battery. Unfortunately the only sockets at the bed are fitted with lamp plugs only, and you would have to use the plugs at the desk, guaranteeing that you wouldn't fall asleep after having to get up and silence the alarm. Great location good hotel. Gym shuts at 7pm which is early especially as you have to pay £5 entry. The buffet shut at 9:30 and is £12 on pre book £16.50 on the door. Didn’t know this information. The room in my three day stay wasn’t turned down my colleague bedroom was.

Dear James, Thank you for your feedback. The gym during the week closes at 20:00 with last entry 45 minutes before closing. We now charge for the gym to keep our room rates competitive. Breakfast is served though the week from 06:30 until 09:30. Bedrooms are only serviced if the guest puts the service my room card on the door, which I assume your colleague would have done for their room to be serviced. So far all is going well. Check in was easy though parking was slightly harder. Room was larger than we expected. Quiet, comfortable and cool.

Was ok, we bought a budget room so we got what we expected, bathroom was a bit dirty, bedding had orange stains on it, radiator sounds like it’s came straight off a Boeing 737, wallpaper sadly was ripped all across the room, the bed frame was in two parts but didn’t align meaning the mattress wasn’t flat. Desk manager was very welcoming, hotel lobby is immaculate and lovely, unfortunately the rooms just weren’t good enough

I enjoyed my stay but I feel even though it is an old property some refurbishment would not come amiss. The car park is full of holes and desperately needs some work doing on it. Coffee supply at breakfast needs reviewing, especially on weekends when it is busy. But the room was nice, clean and warm and we found it quiet even though it seemed to be very busy.

Het back to the standards you had before.
I have been staying here regularly over the past 5 months and the breakfast has steadily dropped in its quality. At £16 a head I expect bells and whistles, but on this trip no fruit, yoghurts, limited meats and cheese along with pastries.

Lovely hotel
We initially booked a small double which in fact was very small- loose headboard, uneven bed base and very noisy radiator! After speaking to the lovely young man on reception he moved and upgraded our room straight away. Rooms are comfy although quite dated they are more than adequate for a 1 night stay. A little noisy from adjacent rooms but did not affect our stay- will most definitely return Thankyou

Great staff, big rooms, could do with a bit of tidying up. Food was average but the cost did not reflect this, it was high. My chips were hot but the pie was luke warm like you would get from Greggs after they have left it for 10-15 minutes.

Could be better.
The room I stayed in was not up to the normal standard. Excessive dust and old cup marks left on bedised tables which proves the lack of polishing and dusting going on.

Excellent Service and customer care.
We had a lovely stay . The staff were friendly and polite. The rooms were clean and the food amazing. I will definetely come back to stay at this hotel and i wohld recommend it to anyone who comes to Newcastle.

Stayed here couple of times. Decor dated needs modernised. steam room was off along with men changing room. Gentleman on reception lovely and friendly. Breakfast was standard.

Dear Dawn, Thank you for your feedback. We are just about to complete our refurbishment of the public areas and corridors, and then commencing our next phase of bedrooms. At present the steam room is awaiting a new door as previously damaged by another guest and is custom made off site. The gents changing rooms are having maintenance work and we have alternative facilities for guests. Lovely to hear you had a good Northeast welcome. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future to the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park.

Overnight B&B
Overnight bed and breakfast. Used leisure pool for a swim which was enjoyable. Breakfast was good but would have appreciated more fresh fruit selection.
