My wife and I stayed at this hotel 8 years ago in 2017 and it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. The staff was amazing, the breakfast was great and the room was immaculate. Fast-forward to this past week and I gotta say that this stay was a HUGE let down!! The staff was still great, but the breakfast and the room were TERRIBLE!! I’m an ex-military guy and I’ve seen better food in open markets in foreign countries! We decided that we would definitely eat out after seeing the breakfast the first morning. The room was HORRIBLE! There was the smell of a dirty dog in the hallway outside our door and what possibly was a senior citizen that might have soiled themselves in the room next to ours. The carpet and couch in the room had stains all over them and the tub looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time, the only thing that appeared clean was the bed. My wife and I had to go to a Target to get air fresheners and bathroom cleaner just to feel comfortable using the shower and to kind of mask the dog and old-people smell. To say that this visit home to Virginia’s hotel stays was disappointing is an understatement. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN!!
