"If you want to get back to nature - stay within 5 meters of the Nile - then yes it's great - but there are NO frills - no AC - there's basic sanitation - it's on an island - it's mosquito heaven - host is friendly but charges for everything - including water - make sure you know where you are going and have active phone service because taxi driver's - guys in the ferry did not know where I was looking for - I did not have local SIM card though"

Mohamed, who speaks good English, was a most attentive host who went out of his way to be hospitable. He makes a great cup of tea! His breakfasts were ample and delicious. This family run, 4 room house guest is a very good value for the money and a lot of fun for off the beaten path travelers who want to get to know the local people."
