"Staff treated me and my wife very kindly, can tell the place has a bright future under the new ownership. Needed a hotel to stay at while I looked for housing as I am in the military, they fulfilled all of our needs and local to everywhere I needed/wanted to be."
"Staff was not friendly and my room was not ready until much later than my scheduled check in time. When I tried to voice my concerns to hotel staff, they dismissed the complaints without providing any remedy. Water pressure was terrible. There are only 4 elevators and it could take up to 20 minutes to catch one during peak hours. "
"I cant suggest this hotel. My husband and travel a lot for work and pleasure. The Autograph collection of hotels usually provides a higher level of customer service and a bit of luxury. Sorry to say, the Glass Light in Norfolk is not it. The woman at the desk during checkin was unfriendly and when she assigned us to a second floor room, I asked the chances for one on a higher floor. She immediately got defensive and said the other rooms were not clean yet. When I asked if they would be ready at check in time 4pm, she told me she couldn't guarantee that. Huh? So I have a reservation and check in starts at 4 but....?? Then she belligerently asked if we were going to wait, this unknown time frame for the "chance" at a higher floor room. My husbsnd had work call to prep for, so we took the second floor room. It was not properly cleaned, so while he sat in his meeting, I used the cleaning wipes to clean the counters, bathroom and walls (yes there was some stain on the wall).
The room was missing a chair for the "desk" and the table for the rocker chair. The room was not cleaned by housekeeping any of the 4 nights we stayed although we requested it. They gave us new towels -by our request and we had to ask for toilet paper. The room was also very dark and limited lighting for a hotel named Glass Light. The location is fantastic and the bar is great. Just don't stay there. Valet is a mess too. It was just so disappointing as Marriott Silver patron and frequent traveler."
