Heritage Inn & Suites St. Louis/Fenton, Trademark by Wyndham
4/10 Poor
"The staff were very nice to work with but seemed to be putting out a lot of fires. I wonder if they are understaffed and having to be reactive with issues rather than proactively addressing them.
We booked this stay so our kids could play in the pool. On hotels.com it listed indoor and outdoor pools but in reality they are the same- half inside and half outside. I don't know if this was a factor in why the pool was SO COLD but it was almost icy. My eldest daughter was in tears because she wanted to swim so badly but after jumping in once, couldn't go back. It was frigid so instead the three families in the pool space crammed into the hot tub. Also, the pool didn't even open until 9am which just doesn't work with little kids- they wake up and want to swim. So we adjusted our plans for the day and were there right at 9. The pool guy was just arriving and said he needed 15 minutes to get everything ready...
When we were let into our room (#123) it had a bit of a weird slightly food smell not the usual just-been-cleaned smell. We went with it but later, when I stepped barefoot in between the two beds onto wet carpet, I realized it was either the smell of wet carpet or worse, puke (ah-that was perhaps the sickly smell we were breathing) that had been sort of cleaned up. My kids were literally about to go to sleep and moving rooms would have been a huge disruption so we avoided the area but didn't sleep great. Sadly, I would not go back to this hotel in the future."
"Unfortunately this hotel experience was a disappointment. We were given a room that was locked from inside, and when I complained this has never happened to us, the staff remarked, "It happens to us all the time!" - which did not say a lot about the property upkeeping or management. The room smelled faintly of dirty cleaning water. Bathroom fan was working, but the staff did not leave us enough towels for all of us. Breakfast buffet was excellent! I would come back just for the food. Easy parking. But, I would not stay here again."
"We stayed here in town for cardinals games. The hotel was very clean. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The pool area is nice and we enjoyed the breakfast. I would go back"
"Parking was a cinch. The location is serene and relaxed. A darling wine bar across the street and Walgreens is a 3-minute walk. The free breakfast was a bit chaotic but adequate. I was dismayed to see teenagers wearing pajamas in the breakfast area and well-fed families hoarding food, but this is the new normal, I guess. "
"Horrible banging all night long every 30 seconds bang bang bang stayed in the same room two years ago did the same thing then I videotaped the sound showed up to them. They did nothing about it for two years."
"Arrived to an overcrowded lobby, with no luggage carts, and one broken elevator. Asked the front desk to send up wine glasses, they agreed and never did. Shower was full of scum, tiles were stained, one of the soap dispensers was ripped off the wall, and the shower leaked on the floor. We ordered food in, and nobody was at the desk to give it to us when I went down. In the morning, something exploded outside at 7am, and then there was a bunch of yelling. The cops showed up later to deal with it. When I asked for a 1 hour later check out, the front desk said no. The hallways have been spot painted hundreds of times, and need to be repainted.
We paid $450 and stayed on the top floor in a King suite. This hotel is over priced, oversold, and doesn't meet basic expectations of a basic hotel stay.
I would not stay here again."
