"Only stayed for 4 nights but wished we had stayed on. The hotel does look a little tired in some areas but that should not put you off. The room was clean and comfortable with amazing views from the windows overlooking all the fields towards Bamburgh Castle. The staff, upon arrival, were cheerful, helpful and so friendly and it was the same throughout the stay. The food was fantastic both for breakfast and dinner. There is a 24 hour diner adjoining the hotel which had an extensive choice of food and drink available; for meals, snacks and sandwiches. We sampled both the restaurant for dinner and the 24 hr diner and both were fantastic. There is also a bar with comfortable seating should you wish to relax outside of your room in the evening. Overall the stay here was really good and would recommend it to anyone travelling the A1 either North to South or vice versa. Could only give 5 stars maximum but would love to give more for the staff, comfort and amenities. The only thing that would detract, although not a major concern, was the low water pressure when using the shower."
