"This is not a lodging for people who can’t do steps. Jackson Room requires a 20 step outdoor staircase to reach the room or leave the room. No other options. Second floor rooms in the main house also require climbing. No elevator. Luggage is a problem. Help needed. Jacuzzi bathtub nice but to use the shower combo one must step over its high sides. Bedding cumbersome and heavy weighted. Heat control in room works well. Train can either be soothing or annoying, your choice. You will hear it at...

"This is my third stay at VRI. I love this place … clean, cozy, wonderful atmosphere, great food, and the best riverfront walking path on the west coast. My son attends U of O and we will stay here at every opportunity."

"Overall a good place to stay. Free breakfast was juice coffee yogurt granola bar. Not a continental in my book. Maybe add boiled eggs, bagels, etc. There is a great Indian restaurant around the corner and Bruns apple market has most anything you need within a walkable distance. If looking for something to do go see the Rhododendron garden nearby at Hendricks park."

"I had a late check in and early check out and the staff were very friendly and helpful both encounters, very clean and comfortable queen bed room with working TV, great AC, fridge w/ freezer section, microwave, and clean bathroom, shower, & sink! Quiet and nice property, my room was facing away from the road, so no traffic disturbances. Nice walkable sidewalks around the area as well. Stayed 3 nights for a decent price, would stay again."

"The room was in terrible condition. We did not feel comfortable staying there. The surrounding area did not feel safe. The bathroom ceiling had a big hole in it. Can’t believe that the charge for the room was $350+. We really wish we could get a refund. We did not stay there. Spent a total of 10 minutes in the room. Please don’t rent this room to anyone else. Do not recommend! "

"The property was fine for what it is. We paid a ridiculous amount for it because we booked during move out week at UO and demand dictated the high price. We did get into the room only after a second try because the first room we were given wasn’t made up. The second room had someone’s half empty wallet by the bed. That didn’t inspire confidence in how well the room gets cleaned. The long list of rules about what is not allowed in the hotel made me wonder what people do in this hotel. I’d stay...

"Have stayed here several times as it's convenient to the Oregon Horse Center. The rooms are always clean and I appreciate that they have the basics I need - bed, bathroom, refrigerator, sink. Check-in is easy and the staff has always been friendly on arrival. I also have an F-350 truck to park and can always find space. They also have a coffee maker and coffee available in the room."

"Updated and clean room. Great breakfast and staff. I was well pleased with my stay. Walking distance to colleges. Eugene does have a homeless problem which is evident at night but hotel parking is well lit."
