A long time family favorite

My family has been staying at the Meridian Grand Hotel since the early1990's. The period public rooms are uniquely beautiful and the guest rooms are modern and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is bountiful.

Exceeded my expectations. I loved my small but cozy and quaint room. Location was exceptional. Directly across from the Banhof on one side and from the other side directly across from the entrance to Konigstrasse and a direct path to loads of shops, restaurants and, of course, the spectacular Christmas market. Hotel service was fabulous as well. Will definitely stay there again.

We had a "delux room, 1 king bed" but found the room and the bathroom quite small. With someone sitting at the desk it was not possible to walk around the bed. Also the hotel invoice and the Expedia quote were difficult to reconcile as the hotel charged breakfast separately (Expedia quoted breakfast as included), and the hotel includes tax in the rate while Expedia quotes tax separately. The hotel is convenient for walking into the walking streets of the old town.

Air conditioner was not working in the room. As we checked in late we did not realize until we weee getting ready for bed. When we told them on the morning no apology not even recognition that this was a problem. Will not stay here again

While the price seems to vary significantly, over the weekend the quality of the room for the price is quite good. The place was increadibly clean, and the inside is as grand as the outside, and the name, suggests.
