"The bed and breakfast was delightful. We had a fourth floor room with amazing views of the harbor. The place was decorated well and was very welcoming. They provided separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash unlike the other places in Scotland where we stayed. The gal that was working was so nice and helpful. Our room was quite spacious and decorated nicely. The bathroom was huge with a large shower and a large soaking tub. Bed was comfortable and roomy not just a double. It was close enough...
"Dont be put off by the 1970s front of this hotel it is fantastic, location is everything for this hotel.
on arrival we were checked in without any issues,found our room although on the small side it was was we booked, superking bed was clean the room in general was spotless (28) and we had a seaview. Bathroom was clean, all in all a great hotel.
Only problem we had was our window wouldn't open and parking was a bit of an issue."
"The venue is up a gradual slope, being around a 10 minute walk from the town centre however the view of the harbour during the walk is beautiful. Being close to the pulpit hill viewpoint makes a nice trip being only a couple minutes walk from the venue.
Carolyn was very welcoming and seeing me as a female sole traveler, made me feel very safe and gave me suggestions for the best places to visit.

"Our trip to Oban was for a family funeral so we were focused on that and we were lucky enough to get a parking space in the small carpark. The inside of the hotel was slightly tired as it’s an older hotel but it was very clean.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very well organised, the young waiter was nice and smiley. Cappuccino was brilliant 👌"

"We stayed 2 days and it was excellent. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The large drawing room that overlooks Loch Melfort was also available for us to use which we enjoyed. We enjoyed a delicious 4 course dinner on the evening of our arrival prepared and served by our host Mathew. This was our first visit to Melfort House and hopefully we will be back again soon."
