"I couldn’t be happier with my stay at the Gates Hotel. The hotel was beautiful and was in a perfect location. Nishiki market was less than a 10 minute walk and there seemed to be a taxi right outside the hotel every time I needed one. The staff was very friendly and helped me set up my luggage transfer to my next hotel in Osaka. I would 1000 percent be staying here again the next time I’m in Kyoto."

"Very clean hostel, nice staff, modern communal work area with free tea and coffee all day. They have a WhatsApp group you can join, but in general I’d say the place is a 7/10 in terms of socializing (you can work it but it won’t fall into your lap)."
