"There was bugs in the bathtub and spiderwebs around the window. We git what we paid for. Conveniently located to get to beaches, old town and various other city attractions."

"I had the jr.suite facing the bay it was a beautiful view. The room was extra spacious. The distance from the resort to the beach and restaurants was about five minutes walking. The pool was heated and huge. The Jacuzzi was also very large. I have kids so having a huge pool was necessary. Great stay and definitely will be back!"

"This place is pretty centralized to most tourist spots in San Diego. Unfortunately that means traffic is a congested during peak hours. The parking is okay. There is one way in and out, so make sure you park your vehicle for easy exit. No free breakfast, only free coffee/tea, but there is a "living room" where snacks can be purchased. The noise level in the room is pretty high...sounds from the other rooms, footsteps above, conversations, and exterior people noise. The staff was pleasant and they were able to accommodate our request to have our 3 rooms in the same bldg. There are 3 levels for each building and an elevator in each one. The elevator is tiny, maybe 4 people with no luggage. We were in SD for a quick weekend event. The property is on the older side, but it fit our needs- a bed and a shower and nothing else. The best thing-they had multiple large ice machines! Cheers!"

"The staff at this hotel was excellent and the breakfast, while very expensive, was quite good. The public spaces are well maintained and attractive all of the rooms are very plain and in need of some updating. Our biggest gripe, and it is a big one, is the pervasive obnoxious music that plays in every public space in this hotel. It is loud and highly interruptive. I asked the front desk people if they could lower it, and they said that it was set by corporate. For this reason alone I would be reluctant to stay at any Marriott property. One arrives somewhat jet lagged, and is up at 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning sitting in a public space trying to get some work done. The music makes this impossible. It's even in the damn elevators. Obviously this is the work of some genius at the corporate level and again I would frankly try to avoid a Marriott in the future because of it."

"This so called resort is not near the beach. It looks like it on the website but it’s actually a fresh water inlet from the ocean. The water is basically lake water with quiet waves with a mud bottom. Check the map and see how far inland it is from the actual ocean. This hotel also gives guests that use other Internet sites to book their rooms, in the tower, which is not like the pictures. Instead, you get what is called “a Traditional room. Traditiional to them means basic, basic. Best to review the website online thoroughly, call this Hotel and ask what is the view like, and ask them not to book you in the tower, and instead a one or two story building that somewhat faces west, towards the water, and has a partial view of the water, or at least of the gardens. And yes you will pay more for a water view of the water inlet. On the good list is the free breakfast. Bet there at least by 8:30. Also make plans to eat elsewhere as the menu’s are limited and you make not like the choices. I doubt if you will eat more than one meal here. The staff is great! Very friendly, and huge smiles! If you don’t mind a limited and cheap room, then ask for the 7 story building called the Towers, apartment style traditional room. This Tower, is not in the photo’s, and it separated from the two story condo-like buildings. I was on the back side of the Tower. My sliding glass door with the balcony, faced the freeway. When I opened it, all I heard is LA traffic."
