"Opposite a beachside park this motel is extremely comfortable, spacious and very relaxing after a long day of driving. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in in the last 10 days road tripping in NSW and Qld. I had the best night's sleep since leaving home."

"Unable to use some of the appliances as we’re out of order. Very disrespectful people in other apartments on the last night . With doors slamming and music way to loud ."

"Good location, proving one has a vehicle to access the city centre. Great for walking and nearby parkland (Queens Park) and Town Beach. The Cafe with dinner and breakfast options is a good budget option without leaving th property. Friendly cooperative staff and well organised. Our room was clean, tidy and well provided for with an new bathroom. To note that with ongoing progressive reno/upgrades to the property there are trades on site during the daytime."

"Tired hotel that they are half heartedly renovating. Housekeeping were very disinterested in servicing our room. The furniture and fittings are worn. Breakfast was inedible - we made a complaint about the charcoal toast and they didn’t care. Only saved by its very convenient location."

"2nd stay there and a great spot, room was not directly in the afternoon sun, so the room is not so boiling hot that the AC couldn’t cope,unlike the last place we stayed at across the road starting with an O, on our last visit to MacKay."

"Need to wash their blankets and curtains. Was very dusty smelling and the blankets were stained and dirty. Unusual as I have stated here before and this was not the case."

"The price was great,staff helpful,room was clean,tidy,presentable and close proximity to shops a d grocery stores to purchase convenient local amenities... However... Unfortunately I decided to stay there with an abusive gas lighting narcissist who made the entire vibe of the stay just feel yucky,low and terrible. Highly recommend the Metropolitan Hotel. 5 stars all round."
