"The room was reasonably comfortable and overall clean, poor drainage in sink and shower notwithstanding. The hotel is definitely older but reasonably maintained. The staff was polite and helpful, the lady at breakfast was attentive and very pleasant. When it comes to breakfast as such, however, a hotel can offer (a) excellence, (b) mediocrity, or (c) something that insults the guests. I will add another category: (d) an abomination to the very idea of breakfast. That is what was served here: nothing remotely fresh, non-working appliances, meagre biscuits and bagels that could not be toasted, leaving only orange juice from a machine to consume. The entire setup of the breakfast buffet sending only one message: We don't care! If the proprietor of a hotel focuses only on keeping costs not low, but lowest, the honest thing (towards guests and staff!) would be to not offer breakfast."
