Booked a room there but did not arrive there till after 12pm, approaching the intercom asking about our booking only to be turned away. Disappointing knowing that we had travelled 11hrs only to do another 11hrs next day to be denied a room for a rest up. Not returning there ever again!

Room not booked as per arrangement
arrived with printed itinerary, only to find no room booked. Had come down to Family wedding , with relatives staying in other cottages only to be put in budget accommodation away from family and friends for the first night and told there may be nothing for the second night, apart from beds being set up in the conference area. Had to use communal bathroom facilities .Owners to full credit, admitted that they had made an error with the booking and they did their level best to rectify the problem. They were able to offer the same as above for the second night. Certainly took the gloss off the weekend.

Lovely Individual Cottages
This is now our third stay at Cottage Park and we will be back. The individual cottages are roomy and comfortable with a separate bedroom and very quiet. They are a little dated but very clean and are serviced every day. Nice easy walk to all the factory shops and beyond. Excellent

Units great - need working wifi (apparently coming
Unit very spacious, clean and tidy. My only gripe is the wifi didn't work - however the owners are apparently getting a new system. You may want to check this beforehand if having wifi is important. The units had air conditioning - which was much needed. However the conference facilities didn't - and it was also much needed. Again, if you are looking for conference facilities during summer you should check for air conditioning. It was nice the units were surrounded by trees. The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend Cottage Park.

Nice setting and detached units
The units separated from each other was a pleasant experience as we didn't hear the neighbours toilet flushing or voices, as is a common experience in motels. Double glazing also ensured that no noise was heard from the adjacent main road.

Great place to stay
Great place to stay. Very comfortable clean rooms. Has everything you need including heat pump. On state highway 1 so some traffic noise but handy and easy to find.

UNSATISFIED. FEEL RIPPED OFF
I booked online from Australia . On arrival in New Zealand I had to withdraw from the accommodation at the Cottage park in what appeared to be a small shipping container . Cold and unventilated. My sons asthmatic and after 5 minutes we had to get out of there and seek out other accomadation at our expense . Very helpful staff with very bad facilities . I'm not stuck up in fact I know how to rough it but these cabins are not HOLIDAY ACCOMODATION . There better suited to a Free room for a homeless person or as a dog kennel. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS PLACE .

Sorry that Paul was dissatisfied. Paul should have taken the opportunity to request an upgrade. The review language is a little strong and contradicts reviews by many other guests.

Great motel close to Otaki.
We booked out most of the cabins for one night as we had family from many locations staying. This was a great place to stay. Roomy, clean and comfortable cabins. Beautiful setting and lovely staff. Highly recommend.

Facilities clean as, nice fruit trees. Parking at our Unit a bit difficult as only 2 parking lots directly next to 3 units. Unit a bit moist and carpet lined walls did not help to feel really clean Inside

Budget chalets with shared facilities as advertised. Carpet material on the walls reduces noise and helps to insulate. We have Damprid moisture collectors installed.

Hotel staff were very warm and welcoming, and the room had all the facitilites we needed for our stay. I left a ring behind in the bathroom and they contacted me immediately to let me know they had found it. Convenient location as well.

The description of the room on Hotels.copm was not accurate so when we arrived and discovered that there was no en suite..and we had to pay $40 more for a room with an en suite, we were a bit dismayed.

Secure restful log cabin surrounded in gardens
Our stay was a plea sent experience enhanced by the atmosphere of the location and surroundings, walking distance to Otaki Village and 10 minutes to the beach. Importantly our cabin was clean and we received personal efficient friendly service each day.

booked a room with two single beds via wotif . there were some left... photos on website showed a typical single room tidy clean two single beds side by side .which i requested . which I expected . for $85 ... instead when arrived late were give "railway carriage type hut with two beds no internal facilities eg outside bathroom . railway huts were overpriced for $85 and was not what was shown when I purchased the room ...ring them and check to confirm otherwise youll end up in a railway carriage hut

A bit too much sanitizer
We very much appreciated how clean our cabin was but found the odour of a sanitizer of some sort very overpowering and needed to open it up and air at every opportunity. Otherwise loved it.

Very expensive and misleading for what we got!!
On arrival we were shocked to see a fibreglass tunnel with a double bed, a small TV and a table - no other rooms. In the unit there were no toilet facilities - no running water - no kitchenette no utensils whatsoever. We are in our 70s and had to go searching for bathroom/kitchen facilities in the rain. We had been to a show and arrived at midnight- previously arranged with the owner. At the time of discussion no mention was made verbally or on their web site of the fact that it was a fibreglass shell without any services etc. For a cost of $85.00 this was advertised as a MOTEL and conference centre it was no more than misleading and a con.

We are sorry to read about your experience. All motels in the region had very heavy bookings at this time and we could not offer a motel cottage. Coming in at midnight on a rainy night would have contributed to your discomfort. We believe the web site has a clear description of our budget cabins, which are quite popular. We do get regular good feedback about these facilities. Comfortable beds, great showers and spotlessly clean. However, the budget cabins do not suit everybody and we do get requests for upgrades.

Good comment. We have experienced guest disappointments because they do not take the time to read through the descriptions. This is particularly an issue when guests use smart phones or tablets. We do get requests for upgrades from the budget cabins to our cottages.

Excellent hosts
Threw together a last minute getaway with the wife. Hosts couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Room was really nice, clean and tidy. Also enjoyed free use of the BBQ facilities. Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant surroundings. The cabin wasn't quite as advertised. The room was a stand alone fiberglass cabin with the basics, double bed, cupboard with some coat hangers, TV, table. The kitchen & ablutions were 25mtrs away, setup more akin to a camp ground but clean tidy and spacious. Despite being beside a main highway the cabin was surprisingly quiet and comfortable and over all a pleasant stay..

Spacious cottage, walking distance to town.
Enjoyed the space we had to spread out. Staff were happy to change our booking( with an extra cost) when we realized share facilities were in a separate building & not suitable for this mature couple.

Overdescribed?
Although booked as a budget night stop we had expected a chalet as shown. The plastic camper unit offered lacked en suite facilities although the site shared unit was at least clean. This is a low rent/motorcamper location. The area is depressed and it took a drive around to find anywhere acceptable to eat at 8 p.m. Will never return.

We drove kms to get here and what a lovely stay ,We couldn't have picked a better place to stay . The staff just couldn't do enough for us . We only stayed one night but could of stayed more . This place gets our vote and recommend a stay here to anyone

I only stayed one night in a very basic cabin.
Did not expect or need much. Toilets and shower were about 25 metres away without covered access which might have been a problem in wet weather. I was OK.

Te Wananga o Raukawa Graduation weekend
Our cottage was warm and comfortable. I met up with family who had travelled from the north, and I travelled up from the south. Unbeknown to all of us, we were booked in the same motels so we were excited to meet up with each other there. This gave us extra excitement where we could go between cottages, have a shared bbq and a meeting with each other. A1 Stay
Both my husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Motel. It was such a treat with all the conveniences tip top. Don and Joan who were working that weekend were so caring and lovely to us, we were spoilt very. The motel unit, adjacent to SH1, was surprisingly quiet, convenient,tidy, spacious and warm , we recommend this Otaki Motel to everyone and we will certainly stay there again when we go south. THANK YOU.
