"Very reasonable price, by Norway standards. Excellent location, overlooking the harbour. Well positioned for bars, restaurants, boat trips etc. The staff were also friendly."

"Rooms are adequate & ckean but of course smaller than in UK or US. Extra pillows would kelp. Breakfast excellent and staff Very friendly & helpful staff at front and kitchen - especially when considering they are operating under strike conditions. Breakfast excellent+ .....Bar knows how to make a great Norwegian Gin & Tonic! Only demerit... showers need a caddy for personal soaps etc and a light that could be dimmed or a night light!!"

"Perfect location for traveling by train or by bus, it was just a short walk You need to take a short train ride to the airport at the central station, but the schedule is frequent. The lobby was cozy with comfortable sofas and chairs. You need to pay for breakfast buffet but worthwhile, but not much variation from day to day. The room was clean. Our bathroom had a bath tub with a shower, so it might not be easy to get in and out.for some people. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"Very well placed hotel, quiet and clean neighbourhood with plenty of amenities nearby. Room a little on the smaller side, but big enough for basic use, thankfully we didn't need to stay indoors all day, else it would have been rather cramped. Also, the fridge didn't exactly get cold, but was just barely cool enough for storing temperature sensitive medicines. Breakfast was good, although dairy intolerance could have been catered for better - no dairy free spreads or cheeses available when making breakfast sandwiches/rolls, and no vegan/dairy free yogurts or cakes/sweet options. Staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to help where required."

"The hotel staff were amazing. We had no idea because we received zero advance communication, but the restaurant and hospitality staff in Bergen were on strike during our stay. The hotel restaurants and bar were closed the entire trip. We had been hoping to eat dinners at the hotel. Hotel breakfast was available and was very nice, but the seating area was overly warm. Our hotel room was dated but very clean. The air conditioning did not work, but we were very grateful that the room windows opened. 24 deg Celsius was just a bit too warm for us to sleep. But the windows allowed cool fresh air in. Overall I think this would be a lovely stay if the restaurants and bar were open and the hotel wasn’t kept so warm. It was clean and very near to every attraction. The hotel staff were very kind and welcoming. Advice: check ahead to see if any strikes are affecting service before you travel. They are very common in Europe. We’d always been notified in the past, but not this time. Expedia should do better to keep its customers informed."

"The breakfast was very disappointing. The strike by hotel and restaurant workers had an obvious impact on the breakfast experience;though we only found out on arrival, when at reception we were told that no hot food would be on offer.This was a major problem for my wife who has significant blood-sugar problems. The choice of low sugar foods was woeful with only two choices of fruit, both not classed as low sugar. The choice of cereals and pastries did not compensate for the lack low sugar staples such as egg, beans and bacon. There was no sign of any diabetic food nor any labelling of sugar content on what was available. The room was not serviced for the week we were there but fresh towel were provided on request. The staff were friendly and helpful. At no time were we offered any form of compensation for the inconvenience and significant reduction in the level of service we had expected from this status of hotel. ( I assume an expected reduction in the cost to Expedia will be passed on to us.) "
