We had a lovely few days at the Metropol. It was very convenient for the Gare du Nord and the Metro. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very clean, with towels changed every day. Breakfast was a simple cold buffet but it set us up for day without having to leave the building. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the street, so we could watch Parisian life, but double glazing ensured we couldn't hear the traffic (just the odd siren!). The hotel is old, so you won't find sockets by the bed, tea making facilities or sound-proofed rooms, and some of the carpets and furnishings are a bit worn, so if you're after a swish boutique experience, look again. But if you want a clean, friendly, reasonably priced hotel, full of character with easy access to central Paris, we would certainly recommend this one.

This is a low cost hotel in central Paris that is convenient for Gare du Nord train station. It is far from the best hotel I have ever stayed in, but for the price and location I have scored it very highly. I only stayed for one night with my kids after a late train from London, and we departed the next day on route to the Alps. For that type of trip it was the perfect hotel - we just needed a bed. A quick shout out to the staff who were very friendly and welcoming.

Rooms are outdated and dirty. There were alot of ants. Bed and pillows were soo uncomfy. Room is tiny. Shower is annoying. Good location though and surprisingly quiet street.

The communal area is scruffy but the room was very clean and was big for Paris too The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Paris Nord station We dumped our bags and stayed for 1 night before leaving first thing in the morning; it was perfect for that!

Better sleep under a bridge instead
By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Imagine the worst cheapest indian hotel costing less than a euro a night. This hotel was worse. The bathroom had mould growing on the walls, and part of the door had already rotten.

My room was clean so as the sheets the front desk were very nice and friendly uva and mohamed thank you.the location was great walking distance..however the hotel needs some renovation big time the carpet was dirty...for sure the hotel needs some make over ....

This hotel should not rate itself as a 3-star hotel; this is the whole reason why I picked this hotel. I should've known from the moment I saw the lobby, old, dirty, lapidated. The carpet in the hallways and room dirty. I was afraid of staying there, when we checked in the front desk person went on a rant about America and capitalism. Drf never going back and Expedia should def review the rating of this hotel. I ended up staying 2 of 4 nights reservation (1 night I arrived at 01:30hrs and next day I didn't find anything within similar budget - I did end up paying USD225 per night at another 3-star hotel further away). Happy to provide photos

The hotel is within walking distance of the main attractions of Paris. this made things easier during the holidays. There are many cafes nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room was clean, towels were changed every day. We were pleased. Thanks

Like how close it was to the train station, elevator was small, room was clean and tidy, however there was noise all night, didn't have sockets around the bed to charge phone, had no kettle in the room to make tea or coffee

This was incredibly good value for money. The location is brilliant. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water in the shower. The rest of the building is very run down, though. I would certainly stay here again when I'm in central Paris, but its important to note that the pictures on hotels.com are very mis representative of the building.

It was very hot ! (no fan in room). Room was noisy too (though double glaxed windows kept out noise o.k.). Bathroom was not good - no shower curtain / no plug for sink.....

The surrounding area to the right of the property is not good, feels unsafe and you feel like you are going to get robbed at any opportunity especially round the train station but if you head left from the property there are some nice bars and places to eat. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff are lovely - x

Unfortunately i didnt read the reviews until too late. I booked the missus in for a week and we went in and inspected the bed, nothing found but after a day she started getting bedbug bites and swelling happened all over her body moved out after 3 days.

Lovely hotel, great location
The hotel is in a great location. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave good tips and information. The only down side is there was no mini fridge and only one electric socket.

We got into Paris late and was glad the hotel was just a 6 minute walk from Gare du Nord. It is an older hotel and it showed. It was not very spacious but it was clean. The guy working the desk at night was very nice and friendly. Glad they allowed check-in that late. It was good for a good crash and sleep after a long day of traveling. The noise from the street was loud as we had to have our window open because it was hot. But it quieted after 1 a.m. Overall, for what it was, we were satisfied.

Ugly stains room and rude staff- don’t stay there
This place is a joke. I booked for my parents for a few nights during our visit in Paris. The guy who checked them in was very rude. I arrived with my parents because they don’t speak French or English. I told him I was just helping them to settle in. He let me in. 30 minutes later he called the room and told me to leave. I was not going to stay I was helping my parents to unpack etc. I left to my other hotel. Turns out they don’t allow visitors at all. So if you have friends staying there ( please don’t ) you can’t visit them. It doesn’t matter if it is during a day or evening. If you don’t stay can’t visit and a very rude man at the reception will tell you that! Rooms are ugly, carpets have stains, the sink do don’t work at all, and of ants in the room.
