"You only learned after booking that the owner would be in the basement at all times and moving cars around constantly. That was not explained in the listing. He also mowed the lawn while we were there, which was not pleasant while trying to nap. The keypad to enter the home doesn’t work properly and you have to type the code multiple times to finally enter. The beds are not comfortable at all. "The check in was clunky
The reason seemed to be we didn’t get the check in code without paying another $100 AFTER the booking was charged. I originally thought this was a nonrefundable deposit, but it is not. It is an additional $100 on top of the fees already paid through Expedia. I didn’t fight it at the time because New York was busy and we had landed and needed a place to go.
But this definitely felt like I was being scammed
Wi-Fi was really weird - a guy had to come to the room three...
