"Extremely disappointing stay.
We were greeted professionally, the front of house staff were wonderful and very amiable. They checked us in and offered us a complimentary 20% off restaurant voucher.
However this is where it went wrong. The staff in the restaurant and manager Bee refused to honour it and brought us multiple different bills with 10% off, then a refusal, then only when we looked at the letter where it stated in BOLD letters that the Florae restaurant was offering the 20% did they finally relent and provide us the 20%. It was a humiliating and degrading experience for all involved. No apology was given, in fact the front of house was blamed for providing incorrect information to the guests.
This lack of organisation and poor staff conduct towards each other is not acceptable at a 5☆ hotel. We paid and had to move on, we were required to take photos of the letter given on behalf of the Valia in order to prove this. Extremely poor service.
Other than this, my room was dirty with waste still floating in the toilet and the knob to the bathroom being broken.
A truly disappointing experience to what should have been a positive experience. I will mention once more that the concierge and front of house in the reception were extremely professional. Sadly they were the only ones. I would recommend serious talks with management.
