"Grandios. Von Anfang bis Ende. Ein unglaublich freundlicher, eleganter Empfang. Wunderschön eingerichtet. Ruhige Lage. Fußläufig viele Restaurants erreichbar. Das Frühstück war excellent. Große Auswahl und großzügige Portionen, die liebevoll angerichtet sind. Es schmeckte alles hervorragend. Top Qualität. Herausragend für Veganer. Einfach nur toll. "

"We were told parking was not available at the property yet a few expensive looking cars were parked in the front of the hotel in the semi circle for all the time of our stay - so not sure why as the signs did say no parking yet they didn’t move! The spa was also not included in the price whereas at most hotels this is a standard offering for hotel guests and was charged daily so was very expensive. Breakfast was also a bit chaotic on our first morning, service was slow and not a lot of choice...

"I booked the accommodation for a present for my partner with our friends. They had a room twice the size of ours which was lovely for them but quite disappointing for us. There was no socket near the mirror to plug in the hairdryer."

"The staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant manager was particularly engaging and was largely on her own on Sunday night but managed the restaurant with aplomb. The housekeeping staff were careful to report back quickly that I hadn’t left rings in the bedroom as suspected. I have since found them in the glove compartment of the car."

"Place smelled horrible. Bedsheets were stained. Mold all over the shared bathroom. I found a pair of used underwear beneath my mattress. The place had not been vacuumed in ages. Very shocked Expedia would allow a place like this to remain on their website. "

"Castle House stands in the grounds of a small castle. It has an electric gated entrance and there are CCTV cameras everywhere - even on the hot tub. The property has recently gone through renovation and is very modern and well maintained throughout. TVs in bedroom 1, lounge and kitchen with full Sky packages, Kitchen has everything you need and hot tub and sauna were an excellent addition. Beds were very comfortable. Small negatives: couple of chipped cups, dusty unit in bedroom 1, bathroom...

"The staff and the breakfast were amazing however the rooms have no shampoo (body wash is not going to do it for me), no lotion, no tissues and no phone. No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. "

"Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open."
