In 2008, I entered my freshman year at Pepperdine University. That year, one of my most beloved traditions began in the creation of what is now a #localgem of Malibu. Each September, Pepperdine University honors the men and women whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001 with the "Wave of Flags." One full size flag is flown for each individual who lost his or her life. They are represented by home country (which is hard to see in this picture as most were American). However, if you get a chance to walk through the flags, you'll notice flags from dozens of countries.

After days of triple digits summer heat in the desert, this sight of ocean in crystal blue was more than breathtaking.

Great place for a short hike to the medicine wheel which is fun to see. Much cooler are all the rock formations that Are amazing to see. Best to go during the week as it is not so busy but if weekend is the only time then go early or late. Very busy :-)
