The Angus Hotel & Spa by Compass Hospitality
8/10 Good
"Really lovely stay at the Angus. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Staff are all friendly, and attentive. Spa was quite basic (pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) but still lovely to be able to go for a swim. However, the area round the pool and spa needs some maintenance as there was plaster broken off walls, missing tiles and the roof has obviously had some kind of issue. Some nicer loungers round the pool would be good as it’s just plastic chairs and not very many. You have to take the towels from your room to use the spa, but you then need to get more from reception for the room. There wasn’t anyone on reception at night so we couldn’t actually get towels as the person who answered the bell didn’t have the key to get them. Perhaps just put extra towels in each room would be an easier and better solution for guests? Also, as guests provision of robes would be useful for the spa as the changing rooms are really small. Plenty parking but don’t be fooled, it’s not free. You have to pay £10 per 24hrs via a QR code. There is a public car park just over the road apparently free up to 3 days, but by then you are already parked at the hotel. Very central for the town and lovely walk along the river. Overall a lovely wee break but some minor points to note."

Moness Resort
8/10 Good
"Booked an executive double room which was very spacious and had a large bath too. A bit dated overall but clean and we had a lovely overnight stay. Dinner and breakfast were both good quality with gluten free options. I enjoyed using the pool and sauna (pre book) however disappointed the hot tub snd steam room were not in operation. Also, the spa was closed both Sunday and Monday. Hotel is set in extensive grounds and is a 15 minute walk into Aberfoyle. Plenty EV charging points at the hotel. Overall an enjoyable stay and will return."

The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great location for exploring Pitlochry. Stayed in a Superior Double Room with Scenic View. Our room was a ground floor, which was really close to the swimming pool, so great for going to pool in swimming costume and a towel without needing to change. Lovely spacious large room with a comfy bed. The hotel is a little run down but that is also reflected in the price, so overall I was happy with what we paid and got. Light in bathroom out but told reception and fixed quickly. Radiator towel didn't work in bathroom and wasn't able to be fixed during stay. The heating only comes on late a night so room cold when get back from excursions but then really hot in the evening (old style cast iron big radiators), we turned them both off, as in bed with a thick duvet gets a bit much, the radiators stay lukewarm even when off, which was good for drying swimming costumes. They have the new infrared sauna which was lovely and the pool is huge and the jacuzzi was good too so well worth going for a swim. Ate at the restaurant first night, food was good but drink service was poor, took 20 mins for drinks to arrive. Ate at the bar the second night again food was good and buy own drink at bar. Ate out other two nights as so close, would recommend The Bridge Restaurant, 5-7 mins walk from hotel. Use the steps to the right as you leave the hotel, much shorter than the way you drive in."

Pine Trees Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Pine Trees was up on a hill in a lovely location not too far a walk into the main town. The staff were welcoming upon arrival and our room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was beautiful and the breakfast was very good despite having to wait a bit due to how busy it was. It was a really nice spot I would recommend."

Westlands of Pitlochry
10/10 Excellent
"Great location with plenty of parking. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Room was spacious with a modern bathroom."

Fisher's Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My daughter had taken ill on the train, your staff were so attentive and helpful and made sure she was comfortable. Very grateful to them."

Mercure Perth Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Toward the end of a recent, three-week trip in the UK, I checked into the Mercure Hotel in Perth, which cleverly occupies a former mill, complete with a waterwheel in the lobby! After experiencing similar chain hotels (without water wheels) in other cities (Bath, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Manchester), I felt that I have a sense for the industry standard, and the Perth Mercure easily rose to the top. The rooms are not as "slick" as others in more modern buildings, but none of my pet peeves found any room to grow. Plenty of accessible outlets, a phone, a kettle with instant coffee and milk, a really solid breakfast and, most importantly, a staff that seemed determined to make my stay a more positive experience. All my questions about Perth were fielded with no little knowledge of and pride in the city. There is only one thing that tripped me up at the Mercure: the spotty wifi reception in my room. Maybe it's a function of thick mill walls. To the credit of the staff, I was allowed to make use of a conference room in the hotel where the signal was strong. My recommendation for the property: invest in more in state-of-the-art Wifi. Then this review would be 6 out of 5!"

Salutation Hotel
8/10 Good
"Lovely breakfast plenty on offer . Lovely large bedroom and bathroom - very clean and tidy but don’t expect a view. Hotel does not have a car park but there is plenty public car parking nearby that doesn’t charge between 6pm & 8am "

Ballathie House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Far from the hustle and bustle of busy cities, the Ballathie was a true delight. The grounds were breathtaking and the hotel was truly lovely. What a fabulous experience."
