Westotel Le Pouliguen

"We booked this hotel as it was one of only a few that had a pool in the area, with availability for our dates. So glad we did get a hotel with a pool (in fact this one has two) as we used both the pools daily. The hotel is nice and modern, great location only a short walk to the front and all the great restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms were cleaned daily and all the common areas were kept nice and clean too. Room was well air conditioned which was essential for us due to the warm weather. We stayed in a Family Duplex, so there was a large bed and sofa on the ground floor and a sofa bed on the upper floor. Before we booked, I did email the hotel and ask if the sofa bed upstairs was suitable for adults and they said it was - however, I would disagree with this unless you are a very small adult! Plenty of pillows provided, and we had a nice balcony with view of the harbour. If we could comment on just a few things: - Sofa bed on the upper level of the Duplex was quite tired looking and not comfortable. In fact, I don't know why the upper level doesn't have a normal bed, either two singles or a double. It would easily fit on there and as there is already another sofa on the lower level it's really not necessary to be a seating area. - Storage was minimal. Wasn't really enough hanging space or shelves for a family of 4. Could easily add more storage in these rooms. - Breakfast was ok and staff lovely but quite a few flies with doors open and food not covered."

"This lovely hotel sits right on the beach with views over the water. The room was small but well designed; the bathroom, although small, had lots of space to put things. It has a drench shower and an ordinary shower. Water pressure is very good. The breakfast room is beautiful and the breakfast itself excellent, certainly for the €11.50 we paid. Staff are very helpful- we had forgotten a mobile telephone charger, so they gave us a spare one to borrow for the duration of our stay. It was extremely hot with night temperatures in the mid twenties. There is no airconditioning- the rooms have a standing revolving fan. We had to have it on the whole night to cool down the room. A ceiling fan would probably make the atmosphere in the rooms better manageable. Then again, I am not sure whether any system would have made any difference. Definitely recommend this hotel."

"Nice clean and comfortable room near the beach/sea. Very small room on 3rd floor but had assistance with luggage up and down. Unfortunately was there during heatwave and although room had a fan it still was incredibly hot! Food was good at restaurant."
