Beautiful Hotel

Lovely room overlooking the river, very comfortable bed, big shower. The hotel is beautiful decorated, with indoor sitting areas and plenty of room on the veranda to watch the passing boats.The manager is very friendly and helpful always with a smile. We would stay again, walking distance to the Main Street shops and restaurants and to Griffiths island to explore. We stayed 3 nights.

A great location close to town centre and restaurants. Friendly and helpful team and delicious breakfast. Lighting for reading in the rooms could be improved and full length mirror would be useful. Oscars has a wonderful ambience and would highly recommend to others seeking a peaceful escape for a few days.

We liked lots of things - quiet, cosy, spotlessly clean, wonderful view, wonderful location. Outstanding welcome and service from Judith Artis. Calm, relaxing, elegant. We cannot fault this hotel. It is better than it looks in the photos!

Small bathroom

Ours was a one night stay. The only disappointment was the size of our bathroom which seemed almost in a broom cupboard. It was functional but this was room 3, upstairs with a view over the Moyne River. We have stayed in other rooms at Oscars where the bathrooms have been much bigger and better.

Stay at Port Fairy, end of the Great Ocean Road

The location in town is very good. It is “on the water” but the water is the river, not the ocean. As far as I could see, there no hotels on the ocean. The building is a former private home. It is beautiful on the outside and on the main floor - there is a large, hospitable common room. The breakfast room looks out over the boardwalk, and breakfast was great. The reason for my lower rating is that our room, itself, was small and extremely plain and dated.not sure if the town is just that expensive, but for the money it cost, we expected the room to match the beauty of the rest of the building.

Very good place to stay with excellent breakfast and comfortable bed. Bathroom on the small side with water temperature a bit intermittent. Will definitely stay here again and love all the surrounds.

TOP LOCATION

Oscars is expensive, but our two nights were excellent. The breakfast could not be faulted. It's a grand old building overlooking the Moyne River and is in a top location, being able to walk to the several good restaurants in this fascinating old township, full of quaint buildings. the hotel is clean, comfortable spacious. Maybe the price is a bit over the top.
