"We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel and have yet to hear back from a Manager regarding the numerous complaints we had with the service experienced. We didn’t! We followed the sites postcode directions which aren’t specific enough. "We spent three nights in this hotel. Free parking for our rental car was a convenience. The hotel is located on a main road in Penzance and there are traffic lights right outside the entrance. As a result, traffic noise was unavoidable. The front office manager Dick also doubled up as the bar tender. He was courteous and helpful. "Beautiful location for this really special place to stay. We had two night here. Although we didn’t have great weather, it hardly altered as the hotel has lots of cosy places to sit and look out on the truly stunning gardens. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. Thank you to whoever found my husbands watch and called us so we were not too far away to come back for it! "Darren at reception was really lovely, the lady who served us breakfast in the morning was very lovely and accommodating. The hotel dog ran up to us barking as we were leaving, which was a bit alarming. The bedroom was simple and clean. Unfortunately the hotel has an awful smell, even in the bedrooms, like damp or mouldy carpets. A bee was in our room, luckily my husband was able to get it out. I appreciate it is an old historic building, but a deep clean and refresh of the carpets might help."
