"Matteus was an excellent concierge for all our tour and transport needs! He is one of two English-speaking persons in Santo Amaro. Surprisingly, most people did not speak Spanish either, so Matteus was especially important (and patient) at all hours for our needs. The hotel is very basic, as are all of the in-town options. The breakfast is very good, with all the options we needed. The location on the river is quiet and lovely, with swimming and kayak rental right from the property. "

"Rafa and the staff of Pousada Angelim are warm, welcoming, and super hospitable, we adored them!!! The room was large and comfortable, and we particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast served on the balcony with a gorgeous view of the backyard. It can also get quite festive in the evening too, as the town's local soccer field is right next door and you can see some of the locals playing a game of soccer from your private balcony! The pousada is just a short walk from town centre with local restaurants and grocery stores. We are leaving Santa Amaro with beautiful memories created by the kind people and wonderful stay <3"

"This is the best place to stay in Santo Amaro! The staff is amazing (say hi to Flavia, she's a gem!), the food is delicious, and the property is incredible. Great pool and lots of family-friendly and kid-friendly activities. And it's super close to the Lencois, making it a great base for anyone visiting them several days in a row."

"I had a fantastic time staying at Villa do Junco. Being tucked away in Santo Amaro, staying here was a departure from the surrounding community as well as a great place. Huge shout out to Beto for accommodating all of my needs/requests during my visit. Not only were our needs at the villa secured but I was able to arrange my transport/excursions through the villa. For planning purposes, be sure to contact the villa well in advance of your trip to confirm transportation from São Luís or wherever you plan to arrive from. My only critiques were regarding communication when it came to setting up my excursions through the villa. I was provided the managers contact information to do this ahead of my trip weeks in advance. Though I was able to make the arrangements over WhatsApp with the manager, I wanted to have details confirmed which was not done until I arrived on site at the Villa."
