"The AWOL is spruced up small motel from the 1950's that charges outrageous room rates for what they offer. They're able to get those rates because Provincetown is hugely popular destination with very few actual higher end hotels. This a property that charges over $900 a night (!) for 235 square foot rooms some dates in season. While the renovation that was done to the property in 2018 when it opened as the AWOL has some style and charm, it's feeling a bit in need of some refresh in 2026. AC...

"Location is fantastic right on the bike trail. Rooms are decent size and clean. Dated exterior but updated interior."

"There were no nights where it was quiet. First morning of my stay there was rhythmic banging (I think hammering) starting at 5:30 am. Between guests and handymen, no sleep to be had. Room was clean. Window AC unit worked well. Coffee bar in the lobby was disappointing. Property is far from any or the PTown attractions."

"We loved our stay at The Mercury. Check in was a breeze. The rooftop deck was great to hang out on before we went to a wedding in town. The gentleman working there was so lovely and personable. I’d highly recommend staying here! Super close to everything on the strip. We were lucky enough to snag a parking spot right out front, but there’s plenty of public parking nearby if the lot out front is full."

"Hallway and room were very musty. A/C in room was filthy, smelt horrible, and could not be used. The bed sloped off to one side and should be replaced. Considered leaving in the middle of the night to find comfortable accommodations."

"The hotel wasn't much to look at from the road, but the room was clean and updated. The lock to the room was a little odd and hard to work, but not a deal breaker. Check in staff was great, the hotel was very quiet for being right on route 6, and we were right in thy middle of everything we wanted to do. Great value for the price."

"Indoor pool was very nice, especially since the outdoor pool wasn’t open yet. Have had many free breakfast buffets at other hotels so was surprised that we had to pay $18 to have it. The food & selection was pretty good but have had similar for free other places."
