We are so disappointed at the uninspired greeting we received when we arrived. The entrance is not welcoming. When we figured out where the unattended front desk was we were less than greeted. I felt like we were putting the host out. That continued as he pointed to
our room and pointed to the stairs to get to the beach. That lack of service continued at dinner when the service was depressing. We felt like we should leave and go to town instead of inconveniencing the poor grumpy guy but we had been driving all day. His personality shifted from drab to rude. We wanted a treat on vacation so we were going to order a cocktail and dessert. After waiting for over an hour we left without.
This place could be such a gem. The beach is so close to the expansive grounds, which are wonderful, but the opportunity was missed by bad customer service. There is no place to sit comfortably to relax with a book. The sparse chairs are extremely uncomfortable. The simple process of putting out some comfortable chairs and/or hammocks could have changed the experience. Additionally, the pool was dirty. We will not come again, which is sad because it has so much potential.
I can’t leave this bad review without adding that the breakfast staff was awesome. They were friendly and did an amazing job. The food at our first dinner was good too. It was sadly overshadowed by the bad service so we did not go back.
