"Husband and I visited the area for time away and to visit family for three days two nights. We had booked a king bed with a dog, we got there and were told that they only have queen bed rooms that are pet friendly. So, we took a queen double bed because we were exhausted and didn't want to go anywhere else plus pay for the room because we didn't cancel in time. This part was not fun as our dog is 50lbs and a super bed hog. We ended up sleeping separately. The sheets and bedding were clean and comfortable though. The shower was horrible! We only had hot water the first night, the shower head sprayed everywhere but where you aimed it. The room was as clean as it could be, due to everything finished as cheaply as possible it looks less than clean. The floors were not as clean as they should have been but you can tell they tried. The tv signal was horrible so the picture was fuzzy, reminds me of watching network television in the 90's. Don't get me wrong, we know we get what we pay for. Typically we would stay somewhere in Valdosta, but we planned to only sleep, shower, and maybe unwind watching TV at the end of the days. We went off the reviews which mostly said, "clean and comfortable". We can agree with most of that statement. It should say, "mostly clean and comfortable, don't expect anything more." We did not complain because again, we know that we get what we pay for. We enjoyed our visit to Madison just like we always do!"
"We like bed and breakfasts because we usually get to engage with owners and other guests. The owner was lovely, and there was a very good on-site restaurant. We arrived early and had lunch and dinner there. Breakfast was not the gourmet meal others reviewers described because the owner needed surgery, and in fact, we were asked to leave an hour and a half early. Our impression of the interior of the house was that there was so much stuff (so-called "antiques" and memorabilia) that no flat surface existed, none. You bumped into things everywhere you went and had to move five things to put something down. We were only there one night, so we lived out of our suitcases, but I don't know where someone would put their clothes for a longer stay. Although the rooms were clean, all the stuff was dusty.
Less is more... "
"We've stayed here several times and it's always clean and they have awesome rates. The Beds are more comfortable than some places I've stayed at and paid 3 times what I did at Royal. The Owner is absolutely outstanding he makes sure that everything is acceptable and helpful with knowledge of the area. Trust me if you are Driving past it because it's not a Big Motel chain, you are making a mistake! Sure the furniture is dated but very clean and in good shape. Huge parking lot if you are pulling a trailer or boat. Give them a Try the next time you are in Perry."
"The front desk staff was wonderful—both the woman who checked me in and the woman who checked me out were professional and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room cleanliness did not match their high level of service. I found what appeared to be food splatter (like salsa or marinara) on the baseboards, and there was stray body hair left in the shower. Great service, but the housekeeping definitely needs improvement. "
