"I was exhausted from driving from California with an 9 year old and experiencing anxiety when I checked in. The staff member was formal , but seemed offended when I verbally told her that parking was a nightmare. She asked . I told her I didn’t care for Portland . Too crowded and nowhere to park . She seemed offended . Overall she made me uncomfortable. The hotel was nice ."

"This is my first time visiting the property since before Covid, so my memory might be bad. It seems a little less cared for in some respects. A major popcorn spill at the lobby elevators sat unattended for longer than I would like. The front desk staff were young. The Palms breakfast staff might need some of that youth infusion! The room was comfortable but for very large corner room the bathroom was very undersized."

"The Royal Sonesta Downton Portland is located near the city’s main attractions and restaurants. Good breakfast, nice bar and restaurant —open only a few days a week; very good service and generally a pleasant atmosphere. The lobby has a piano, it is beautifully decorated and is a welcoming and inviting spot. Recommended for business or pleasure."

"The Hoxton is alright. It's a hipster hotel trying to hard to be a hipster hotel. They gave us two White Claws at checkin. That was a first. Our room was small. Super small. Like fighting NYC's tiny rooms for smallest space still rentable. Honestly nothing really bad to say. Nothing super good either. Other than you could actually get the room very dark at night. Bonus points for that. The mini fridge didn't work. The light switches were bananas. We finally got it sorted on our way out the door....
