Room was clean and comfortable on a very quiet street but walking distance to coffee and restaurants. Great place to walk the dog. Only downside was that room had hard floors with no rugs so sound really traveled. I could hear every coming and going in the hallway.

I booked the family suite which said it had two separate sleeping areas, each with a king size bed, a separate dining area and a private kitchen with full size fridge, overhead mounted microwave, etc. I had just completed cancer treatment and was traveling for my birthday with a long-time friend. Who has early onset Alzheimer’s and my dog. We stayed here because it sounded perfect to keep an eye on my friend while giving him his space without distractions or having to have my dog on top of him as well as allow us to dine in since crowded spaces can be problematic for him. When we arrived our room was a double room with 2 queen beds, a microwave mounted below a counter and a small fridge – NONE OF WHAT WE EXPECTED. After contacting management, I was told that they don’t have a “Family Suite” (listed on their webpage) but that it’s called a “Beach Suite” and that’s not what we booked….. He went to the matt with me that I booked a double room. When I informed him, I was looking at my receipt and I indeed booked the “Family Suite” he told me Expedia sent him the wrong reservation and that Expedia sent a reservation for a double room. I insisted I was looking at the receipt on Expedia and it definitely stated they/I booked the suite. He went on to tell me there was NO SUITE”. I told him I was looking at the pictures on their listing and described the suite to him he told me he would have to look into it and get back to me, asking me to “hang tight” this was at 1:09pm the

Pet friendly, small and very easy. Glad I could go directly to the room without waiting due to having dogs. Wish rooms had a little more back support (headboard, pillows), lighting/AC wasn't working well and hot tub did break but staff was great in accommodating as best they could. Love how pet friendly they are, dogs had an amazing time, best dog friendly hotel I've been to (even option for a large quiet basement suite if your pup is reactive). It is also a great walk to the beach or to take a bike (dogs are allowed on the boardwalk/beach from late September to early May) but even just the trails and dog friendly restaurants it is worth a stay if you have furry friends!

We booked the family deluxe suite. In the website on the pictures and description, it gives the illusion that the suite has separate bedrooms however it’s a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom suite only. The second bed is in the dining area behind a mirror. There were only 2 beds. WiFi connection was pretty poor and the televisions were very dark. You could barely see the screens. We were provided a code to have access to the inn however it never worked. We would have to call constantly to be let into the inn even though we paid to be there. It was a huge hassle and pretty disappointing to not have access to our room at our leisure. Parking was scarce and they’re were no noise consideration. It was very loud all throughout the night. Banging, stomping and yelling. It was very uncomfortable. The room had no thermostat to regular during this hot summer. It had a humidifier inside the room only. It was extremely hot during our stay and inside smelled of dogs. I wouldn’t come back here nor recommend.

Poor representation of property

The entire property seems run down and certainly not maintained. Exterior had dirty railing, exterior doors and there was a rain barrel full of stagnant water with mosquitoes and other bugs. The so called dog showers was shower head at human height. Absolutely no way to clean a dog properly after a day on the beach. The coffee/lounge are consisted of one pot of coffee. No stirrers or spoons and sugar rock hard in the container. Our room which I assumed wrongly would look like the website. Absolutely did not. Our room had broken shades, lights which did not work properly with the remotes and the ceiling fan was filthy. The (two) advertised robes was one robe with no belt. The one queen bed with a duvet was wrinkled and bunched on the bed. The doggy towel which was advertised was indeed a sheet. We had to wash the dog bowl because it had dried particles in it. There was no rug located into the entrance of the room to catch sand and dirt so as a result we had to ask for a broom and dust pan which I was told to collect from the downstairs area. The broom was splayed and dirty. So we ended up wiping the floor by hand with damp towels. The outdoor chairs and tables were equally dirty. I am not a person who complains as a rule. This however was over the top opposite to the website. We were there for an event and had no time to relocate. I will give high regards to Beth the cleaner on the property. She went to great lengths to find a hose for us to wash our dog.

Great pet-friendly alternative to vacation home

The Canalside inn is a great property just inside Rehoboth beach as you cross the canal. It's very walkable to everywhere or you can rent a bike from them too. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the community kitchen/social area is a big bonus. The management should put a sign up to make it clear, the food that's placed in the community fridge is NOT for community consumption--someone ate my breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it as an excellent pet-friendly hotel.

It's in a good location on a low traffic street. It is absolutely not a 4 Star hotel, its a 12 room airbnb for people with dogs. There is no staff, every time I open the door to the upstairs hallway i got hit with the smell of dog poo. The "deluxe king" room I booked has no closet or dresser to unpack and not much room to put a suitcase to live out of. I live in a tiny efficiency apartment and felt cramped here.

Tucked away gem in the heart of Rehoboth Beach

This is my first time staying at an independent property, rather than a name brand, so I was a little unsure at first, but they’re pet friendly and close to where we wanted to be for the weekend - something hard to find in season. The property has a nice curb appeal, it’s a little older of a building, but still quaint. The room was an even nicer surprise: well appointed, extremely comfortable mattress, pillows, and bedding. The bathroom had wonderfully thick towels, although a little challenging in storage space — but I tend to pack more toiletries than anyone person needs. The room itself had ample storage. A mini-fridge and microwave were nice amenities, as was the mood lighting, and French doors to patio. The service was excellent, any point of contact was pleasant and helpful. The pool and hot tub looked well kept, although we didn’t use them. You can tell the family who owns this property is putting a lot of love into it. We would certainly stay again. They have a fair price point, and provide a genuine sense of hospitality.
