"En general todo bien. Hice la reserva via Expedia y me salia que el total por noche era $105.60. Sin embargo al momento de hacer check in me cobraron $121.77 ya que me indicaron que el precio en Expedia no incluia IVA. Primera vez que me pasa esto en algun hotel ya que siempre que he reservado con Expedia pago el valor que indica la reserva. La persona que me atendio en check in no fue muy amable con la situacion."

"Old world charm in the historic center. Excellent coffee in the room and a chocolate on the bed each evening. Also a great buffet breakfast with local fresh fruit. High end l'Occitane bath products.This hotel pays attention to detail and we felt well cared for. Cuenca flows with mountain springs but we advise drinking only bottled water. A wonderful place to stay!"

"Our stay at the Hotel Oro Verde was truly memorable. The service was impeccable, and the quality of the rooms, the restaurants, and the hotel in general was fabulous. Everyone there was incredibly friendly, and we were truly impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the entire staff. We especially want to highlight three people: first, Sabrina at the front desk made us feel right at home, always attentive and kind, helping us whenever we needed anything. Second, Elian, a young and enterprising team member who was everywhere in the hotel, always providing impeccable service and aspiring to make hospitality his profession. And finally, María José, the front desk manager, who kindly sent some sweets and a soda to our room, making us feel truly special. It was our first time at Oro Verde, but we’ll definitely return to stay there whenever we come back to Cuenca."

"I recently stayed at Mansión Alcázar in Cuenca, and the experience genuinely stayed with me. After a long day of travel involving buses, taxis, shuttles, heat, and exhaustion, I arrived tired and overwhelmed. The very first thing they offered me was a warm towel. That small gesture meant more than I can adequately explain. It immediately shifted the experience from “transaction” to “hospitality.” I had also been unexpectedly upgraded to a much larger room than the one I originally booked. The room itself was beautiful, quiet, elegant, and deeply calming, but what impressed me most was the feeling behind everything. Nothing felt cold or corporate. The hotel felt crafted rather than processed. One detail that particularly struck me was the room key. Instead of a generic plastic card, it was attached to a large, weighty medallion marked with my room number. It may sound small, but it completely changed the emotional texture of the stay for me. It felt intentional. Memorable. Human. Throughout my stay, the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere carried a sense of dignity and calm that is increasingly rare. I have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this was one of the few places that made me pause and truly feel cared for. Thank you for such a memorable stay."

"The staff upon arrival was welcoming and attentive. The hotel is stunning and well maintained. The room was spacious and very well decorated with high end finishes. The bed was comfortable and the pillow choices were a nice touch. The bathrobes and slippers were appreciated after a nice hot shower with great water pressure. The rooftop restaurant has great views and food with an attentive staff. The breakfast in the morning in the downstairs restaurant was also great with huge portions. They even arranged a private car to take us back to Quito and we were very happy with how he drove and the car was very comfortable and clean. We plan on returning to Cuenca regularly and this will be our go to place to stay."
