OYO Hotel Harriman near I-40
2/10 Terrible
"Room was dirty, bedding had stains and rips to covers this place shouldn’t be allowed to be called a hotel, reception man was to busy on personals calls to assist, steer clear people, breakfast was average but parking was good"
"Good and safe Place to spend the night in.
In general, Room is clean; I would say 85% acceptable.
But, Housekeeping MUST move the furniture around, in order to properly CLEAN the Room behind the furniture (bed, fridge, coach, desk, etc.), due it was very dirt underneath and behind it.
I would stay here again, but I indeed recomend to properly clean the Room in places that are not immediately visible to the Guest, but for sure they'll be checked by Guests. "
"It was ok hotel for money...there a lot rust in bathroom...but everything worked ...bed was nice but was so high I had use a foot stool to get in the bed ..."
"Our stay was very disappointing from the moment we arrived. We had requested that the AC be turned on before check-in, but that was not done and the room was extremely warm when we got there. The thermostat is also locked so you cannot run the fan continuously to help circulate air, which made the room even more uncomfortable.
The refrigerator in our room was completely frozen up and not working, so we had to call and have it swapped out after we had already settled in. In addition, the side entry door from outside into the hallway was not secured at all—anyone could walk straight into the building, which raised serious safety concerns.
To make matters worse, the hotel had construction going on during our stay. The workers were loud throughout the day, and there were cigarette butts left all over the property even inside. Overall, the experience was frustrating and not what we expected from a hotel stay at a Double Tree."
"The first was room was very dusty and dirty, was moved to a different room and the new room was better but there was hair in the sheets in the new room and when using the air conditioner it had a very odd smell. Requested late checkout and that was not recorded from the prior person so we got multiple knocks on our door from housekeeping with them asking us to leave, then the front desk called also saying we were needing to checkout despite requesting late checkout. I will not be using this hotel ever again. However the lady who checked us in and checked us out was very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible."
"Hotel is basic - kitchen, bed, bathroom - but no utensils or silverware at all. Only access to food and drink are vending machines and a coffee machine. No breakfast provided. Cabinetry and drawers etc are walmart quality - so bottom line this is like a hostel more than a hotel and you need to come armed with everything you need. There are no staff on site between about 9.00 pm - 7 am which could be an issue in an emergency. Not sure what happens if yiu arrive after 9 pm and need to check in. One other thing to note is that my room (and I suspect others) have no blackout curtains, only slatted blinds, which would be fine were it not for the 500 gigawatt halogen lamps in the parking lot which make the bedroom light even in the middle of the night. So if you literally just need a bed, bath and a room, this is OK - but if you intend to use the room for more than that, find somewhere more typical with carpeted floors and some amenities."
"While traveling, we received a call that staff didn't have the king room available that we had booked, instead asking if we would take a queen. May asked us to call back. However, no matter how many times we tried, no one answered front desk. Corporate was no help to us. Orbiz/Expedia said that cancelling would forfiet our money. When we arrived we were given the queen and two goodie bags, each containing a bottle of water and a bag of Skinny Pop. No refund or adjustment to the room rate we had paid. There was no hair dyer (guests must check them out), only a tiny bar of soap and one tiny container of shampoo, no hand towels, and the TV didn't work (an employee did fix that), The floor was tacky in areas. Maid was knocking on our door before check out time the next morning. Will never stay here again or recommend it. It was so frustrating for two weary travelers. "
