We absolutely loved our stay at Valdonica. The views are breathtaking, the pool area is extraordinary, the restaurant serves the best food we’ve has in Italy so far. The breakfast was delicious and it was amazing ro sit on the patio and enjoying the view! Manuela made sure we had everything we need and took extra good care of us. We also really enjoyed the wine tour and tasting with Lorenzo. What an amazing stay at Valdonica, couldn’t want anything more to celebrate pur 20th anniversary. Highly recommend the residence and the restaurant!

Valdonica is located in the most spectacular nature, overviewing the vineyards, mountains and you can even see the sea. When we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff, asking us, if we would like to sit and relax with a glass of wine. We also joined their wine tasting. We had a very pleasant stay, and would love to get back.

Welcoming was magnificent, as the view where we taken to admire, whit the welcoming rose vine. Unforgettable! Only after that we where signed in. So nice and easy. Staff was nice and helpfull, everything was clean. Tasting dinner with the owner remains in our mind very long time. The place is amazing, go there!

Stor anbefaling med fabelagtig udsigt

Kæmpe anbefaling, helt fantastisk udsigt. Generelt stille behageligt sted, så hvis man trænger til et par dage med fabelagtig udsigt og stille omgivelser, er det stedET. Virkelig lækker mad på stedet, kan især anbefale pastaen med pesto! Dog er poolen en lille gåtur fra nogle af værelserne, men meget stille område. Generelt stor anbefaling herfra ♥️

Valdonica Winery is stunning! The views from our bedroom balcony were astounding, facing all the way down the vineyards, to the sea in the distance. The restaurant is run by Chef Marco, who has curated a wonderful 4 course tasting meal. Each of the dishes can be accompanied by one of Valdonica’s own wines. Manuela at reception was extremely helpful throughout our stay. She recommended a fantastic restaurant in the nearby town, called Da Nada, and made sure we had wine to celebrate, following my proposal to my now Fiancée! On the Saturday of our stay, we joined the degustation, which was led by the owner of the Winery himself. It we a true joy to hear the passion and vision he has for wine making, and really added to the experience. The pool is a 5 minute walk from the main building, located next to the cantina, and has some incredible views of the winery. The only reason I couldn’t give this 5 stars, is because the AC really didn’t work and the building itself seems to absorb heat overnight.

Simply stunning

A stunning property. This was our favourite stay over a 4 week holiday and is a place to truly relax. We weren’t sure at time of booking if it was too far off the beaten track but booked it for the promise of a view, and it certainly did not disappoint. The view from the pool and breakfast area is truly spectacular, and whilst the location is away from the main tourist sites, it’s very peaceful and still well within reach of Siena, San Gimignano etc for a daytrip by car. Real care has been taken with the fit-out of the accommodation and there are some lovely, thoughtful touches such as complimentary filtered water, coffee machine and fruit in the common area. Breakfast is generous and tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the owner is a gracious and welcoming host. We had an issue with the room on arrival and the communication in response to our questions prior to arrival was a little lacking, but every effort was made to rectify this and ensure we had a wonderful stay. We were also grateful for some excellent recommendations of sites and restaurants in the area. Very highly recommended.

This was a very beautiful hotel with great facilities and activities. It was nice that the place wasn't too big so that you could meet other guests and talk to the owner about his experiences. There was a problem with our original room but they gave us an updated room with a discount so I was pleased with that. My only complaint is that while the cooking class and picnic were great activities, they were way too overpriced for what they were. Overall, I would recommend staying here.

Great Tuscany Experience

WOW! Valdonica what a great location, accommodations. winery and staff. Martin and his team have thought of it all and provided a great Tuscan vacation. His staff headed by Massimo who goes to another level to make sure you not only enjoy your stay but also comes and finds you should you get lost, and Francesca guiding the dinner menu was very special. Just a Great Tuscan experience and we will be back.

Couples retreat to Tuscany

First off, Valdonica is a beautiful location in the Tuscan countryside, and we loved the scenery and area around it. This is a place you go to relax, not to party or mingle with big crowds, its not a tourist-place at all. The room was nice, the bed was a bit hard for our tasting so we did not sleep all that well, but overall quite good. It was only one chair in the room, for a typical couples place, you would expect it to be 2 chairs so you could sit together instead of one having to be on the bed at all time. The room had an outdoor area which was nice, but it was quite windy and we were on the shadow-side of the building, so it was a bit too cold to sit out there. The people working there are really nice, and the owner stopped by now and then for a chat so it was cool. However, the best part with the place was the people we met while being there. Since its a small place, everyone wants to get to know the others, so we had tons of fun, did wine-tasting, horseback-riding and dinners every night with other people we've never met before. The closest villages have a few restaurants/pizzerias. They were great, nice people running it and very good and comfortable atmosphere. Just be aware of the fairly long siestas, from around 12.30 to 16.30+ everything is more or less closed and you wont find much to do or buy around there. The place comes highly recommended from us, and we might go back there again later.

Vineyard experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. Sassofortino has two excellent restaurants within walking distance(DaMomos we ate at many times) and Follonica beach is quite close. The staff is amazing and helpful. The scenery is breathtaking. The owner is very accommodating to your needs. we can not wait for our next vacation here.

Great spot in Tuscany

This place was fantastic and in a lovely part of Tuscany - a genuine Tuscan experience without all the crowds of Florence and Siena. The place itself had lovely rooms in a beautiful setting in the winery. The wine was also great! My only suggestion would be to skip the hotel dinner as there are plenty of fantastic food places nearby for less.
