You’ll find that some Barbados beaches are known by multiple names, but taxi drivers will generally recognise all choices. Ask for Accra or Rockley Beach to visit this very pleasant south coast beach where the water is crystal clear and the sand is soft, easy to walk on without worrying about sharp coral pieces.
Rent umbrellas, beach chairs and boogie boards from several vendors nestled in the shade of trees bordering the soft white-sand beach. Later in the day, return to browse the clothing, jewellery and handicrafts at other vendor kiosks.
The ocean floor slopes very gradually in this cove so that you can wade out quite far without reaching deep water. With its southern location, Accra Beach does get more wave action than beaches to the north. Lifeguards monitor activity on the beach and raise a red flag if conditions become dangerous.
Accra Beach is at the end of the South Coast Boardwalk, a raised wooden path between the ocean and road that stretches from Accra to Hastings. Go out for a jog or walk to enjoy the quiet morning views of the ocean watch for sea turtles in some of the less developed area. Midday, stop at one of many local and chain restaurants for drinks and snacks. Later in the day walk along the boardwalk and watch the sun through the trees as it drops to the horizon. Winds often whip sand onto the boardwalk faster than sweepers can remove it, so be prepared for some beach-like walking.
Just across the road from the beach is Quayside Centre with many choices for snacks or full meals. Enjoy the local fish caught fresh that day and brought in to the harbour at Oiskins. Be sure to return to the beach to enjoy a glorious sunset over the Caribbean Sea.
The beach has shower and toilet facilities. Accra Beach is just 3 miles (5 kilometres) south of the heart of Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. Take a bus or taxi to get there. If you have a rental car, there is plenty of free parking.

Reviews of Rockley Beach
4/5 - Good
This is a better beach if you like surfing as not as many rock pools as Hastings beach.
