Hilton Garden Inn Rome Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Rooms are really nice, well-appointed, comfy beds and all amenities. The other Hilton is walking from within the airport but much more expensive. The Hilton Garden location is extremely isolated, and it seems necessary to go around by shuttle by completely random roads covering some parking lots, making it impossible to find ANYTHING nearby within walking distance. Even taxi had to follow the same route which seemed like a one-way around half the airport. Staff is friendly, but a bit hard to find as multiple people communicate and man the desks, and questions and follow-through are a bit tedious. We chose this hotel because we were to arrive at 12.15am (our delayed flight arrived at 1.15am) and it had a free shuttle to airport, which would help in visiting Rome during our two-night stay before a cruise. The employees did not know their website gives incorrect information about the hours of the shuttle. Their website incorrectly stated their shuttle runs only until 10.30pm and there were also no clear instructions as to where & how to find it. Expedia confirmed they ran the shuttle 24 hours, and an employee emailed us to tell where to find it. We ended up taking a taxi for Eu35.00 because the instructions arrived too late. It should have been on the website. To visit Rome, or the Civitavecchia port, you must take their shuttle to the airport & then take the train, bus etc. to Termini. We ended up taking a taxi direct to the port for Eu150.00 which seems to be the flat rate."

Best Western Hotel Rome Airport
8/10 Good
"We stayed for 2 nights from May17-19. As all travelers have noted, the rooms are small, more the size of better motels. They are not sound-proofed. The staff is polite and efficient. We had an issue with a slow sink drain as soon as we checked in, & they sent someone right way to fix it. Tea/coffee in the room, the change linens and clean daily. They have an Eu8.00 shuttle to the airport, however the location is a 7 minute walk to the city bus to Rome Termini which goes via the airport, and runs with great reliability and frequency for Eu7.00 online, or Eu9.00 on-site. For an early morning (3am) departure to the airport, they arranged for the same paid shuttle for Eu30.00. A few cafes and stores on the way to bus station make it easy to get the necessities. Especially mentionable was the Friends Indispensa Bistrot just past the bus station for an amazing dinner. Everyone mentions the Concorde on-site, but we found one of the staff members rude, unwilling to offer vegetarian options, and had the audacity to bring us flat red wine when we asked for white, proceeding to fill one glass out of leftovers from two bottles, then when we complained, threw it out and served from a new bottle of white. We did not go back there during our stay. Overall, we did not think BW was worth the price they charge."

"Unreal spot, will definitely be back."

The Hive Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at the Hive for 3 nights. Front desk staff were great and super informative. Room was very spacious and clean. Great location, walkable to most things or easy access to train station. We enjoyed the rooftop bar every afternoon before we went for dinner in the neighbourhood. It had a lovely atmosphere and good music playing The only things that we off putting was on the second night we were accused of charging drinks to the wrong room the previous night. Also, the guy who brought a steamer to our room basically barked at my husband we were only allowed to use it for 1 hour, he was rude. Other than that overall, a great stay!"

Aria Palace by OMNIA Hotels
8/10 Good
"The hotel had clearly been renovated, with modern fixtures and design. Breakfast was a great addition. The rooms were very noisy at night, with multiple doors “slamming” in the hallway throughout the late night and early morning. It seemed oddly loud for a hotel that didn’t seem that busy. Also, the hotel advertised a free airport shuttle. However, we had to ask twice to set it up and it ended up being a taxi that then up charged us for not having cash when we got to the airport. This property does not actually offer an airport shuttle and should better control the companies they work with. I would have just used uber."

Gioberti Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Found the property well maintained. Next to the transit system. Nice roof top area for breakfast. Did not have it open in the evening which is a shame. Would have been nice to sit up there to have a cocktail to wind down after a long day sightseeing. There is way to many people trying to sell you things while sitting and having dinner at a sidewalk cafe. The city was way too congested which took away from our stay. Best time to come to Rome is December, January and February."
