"Firstly, it was lovely to stay in an independently owned hotel where the staff clearly have great pride in their hotel and ensuring that guests are happy with their stay. Everyone was charming and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the evening meal, although not an extensive menu, was freshly prepared and nicely presented. "The best thing about this hotel is the location which is fantastic, and the staff were very nice. We stayed in the Oak Suite which is apparently the best room; it benefits from a private terrace with a pair of easy chairs to watch the river and it's occupancy go by, which is lovely. For me it definitely wasn't a four star, but a fair three star hotel. There was a temporary kitchen which also hampered them as well as the view. The room was clean and airy with a (strangely grubby!)Juliet balcony...
