Wonderful location within easy walking distance to the downtown area and plenty of great restaurants. Danny at the front desk was welcoming and friendly. The room is spotless and nicely appointed and updated. A great little spot that we will return to.

I was told at check-in that there would be free breakfast available at 7:00am the next day. When I arrived at 7:00am the next day, the sign on the door to the breakfast room was still flipped “Closed” and the door was locked. I had an important exam at 8:00am at the university, so I didn’t have time to wait around to see if/when they would open breakfast at the inn, and I left the Inn to buy breakfast at a local cafe. When I got back to the Inn from the cafe at 7:20, I went to check the door of the breakfast/dining room again and it was still locked/closed. The woman who was supposed to be working emerged from her car with an empty fast food bag that she was disposing of. She yelled at me from across the parking lot saying “Just a minute and I can let you in for breakfast!” to which I replied telling her I already had to go and buy my own breakfast at a cafe because the dining room wasn’t opened when it was supposed to be 20 minutes ago and that I had an exam in 40 mins so I would just be grabbing my suitcase from my room and checking out. It looked like the worker wasn’t able to open the breakfast hall on time because she was late for work because she was busy buying herself fast food. The room itself was pretty nice (at least visually), although it had a terrible musty stench. There was also what appeared to be a dead wasp or a giant booger smushed into the wall by the light switch to the bathroom… so I have to question how thorough their housekeeping is.

This was the perfect spot for us. The location is better than anything else. It is a converted motel, however everything is upgraded. Our toilet, shower, bed, etc...was new. The coffee maker was a Keurig with Dunkin Donut coffee. It may be lower end than a Hyatt, but I'd prefer to stay here any day. BTW, you can walk to the Saturday Farmers market which was awesome.

What a great little hotel in the middle of downtown Davis! Had everything I needed. As a single female traveler I felt very safe. Comfy bed made for a great sleep. A great value! 10/10!

Nice hotel overall. I would have liked to have more counter in the bathroom and definitely a better heater. The present heater is outdated and very noisy. The indicator showed that the filter needed to be changed.

I had a decent stay. The room itself was fairly clean, except for a few bugs that kept popping up dead. I’m not sure what kind of bugs they were, but I found like 3-4 of them on the floor. They looked like tiny beatles or roaches. There were also some rodent droppings as I was coming the exterior stairs, but they really can’t be expected to prevent that on the exterior. I would expect someone to promptly clean up the droppings before too many guests see it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the room looks really nice and renovated. The glass enclosed shower and updated, contemporary bathroom in general was a huge plus. The sheets were clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I had to take stars off because of the aforementioned pest issues and the noise. The in room heating/cooling unit was very loud. The refrigerator was all very loud, when it kicked on. And I don’t know if the walls are just thin, or have poor sound insulation, or both, but I was able to hear everything going on outside (people, cars, etc.) and all these woke me up several times throughout the night. And someone started using a leaf blower at 7am and the sound just went right through the windows/walls. There was no more sleeping for me after that.

This is a well remodeled motel - typical of the old Travelodge configuration. King room was large, new TV, bed very comfortable. Had large easy chair, basic desk, etc. Very central location in downtown Davis. Two features that were thoughtful were the bath sheets instead of dinky bath towels and a breakfast/snack room that was open all the time. Desk clerks were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at the Vine Inn again.

The Vine Inn was very nice and had been recently renovated. Trash trucks started banging around pretty early but the Inn can't control that. Everything the Inn did was very good!

No fault of the actual staff, I assume this is due to understaffing choices by management, but, they agreed to hold my suitcase and said somebody would be there when I needed to pick it up, and when I got there, there was no one and I ended up waiting for about 45 minutes. There's a note to go to the Best Western a few blocks away, but, come on, guys....

It is a small spot downtown. This is great if you want to be able to walk to explore without having to deal with driving. The rooms are clean and modern.

The property was in the heart of downtown Davis and allowed us to walk to restaurants and other venues without having to be concerned about parking. The property itself has been tastefully updated and was pleasant to stay in.

Bad value, insanely drafty doors
The staff is very friendly, but the hotel is really not good. The breakfast was about the worst I EVER had in a hotel in the US, and that is saying something since most of them are terrible to begin with. The room itself, while clean and reasonably comfortable had a door that acted more like a curtain than a door. The gaps around where so large, cold air was coming in all through the night, the AC used for heating was an incredibly loud old thing that desperately needed a new filter. We turned the AC off since it was way too loud to sleep with, even with ear plugs, and the room took about 10 minutes to be COLD. So, while it's in a convenient location, has very friendly staff, a reasonably warm shower, the rest is is terrible value. A typical motel is better at half the price.

This would mark my second stay at the Vine Inn, and I’ve been more than satisfied with the cleanliness and service. This is my go-to hotel when I’m in Davis visiting my lovely lady.

Stayed here while visiting my son who lives in Davis and it was great. Breakfast had lots of options, the staff was friendly and helpful and I even witnessed there acts of kindness to others that were not guests. The only downfall is parking- they don't have enough spots for all guests and non guests do park there but there is plenty of street parking, would stay here again!
