"The staff at Le Phenix are amazing . Always friendly. I felt comfortable with them. They are gracious for we English speakers who have less than rudimentary French (I practiced! Really I did!) The rooms have good AC if necessary. The restaurant associated with the hotel is shockingly good. Such a wonderful lunch! We did not have the breakfast buffet because we eat so light, we did not find value. I do wish there was a hot water kettle in the room. Beds are comfortable. Our room was spacious....

"We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very kind. The location is incredibly convenient and the rooms are quiet and clean. The only complaint would be that the shower door leaked, but otherwise everything was perfect. The all day snacks and coffee in the bar area was appreciated. The breakfast was somewhat small but had everything you would need to start the day. I would stay here again for sure!"

"Great hotel, located close to many restaurants and sights. Easy walk to old town. Few blocks from the metro. It's an older building, so the elevator was too small for our whole party, but the stairs were really accessible as an alternative. Great stay!"

"Parking was easy at a cost. Room was great with river views. I would normally give a 5/5 however I feel the staff in the coffee shop/bar/restaurant let the hotel down. Most of the staff were very busy talking to each other and left guests waiting until they went up and had to asked for service. I thought it was just the italian way until I saw a few Italian guests go up and asked to be served. The food could be better as well. Only a small thing as the laurel is attached to a Shopping centre...

"The hotel is old and very small, dirty patio, dirty room, we had to change rooms because the bed wasn’t clean had hair in between the sheets. The front desk guy was helpful changing us into another room. Breakfast was ok, didn’t look like in the pictures."

"I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lyon. The location is fabulous and close to wonderful shopping and restaurants. Great staff and the rooms are very well decorated and loaded with amenities. They offer a lovely breakfast."

"Handy for the city centre, restaurants and the metro which also links to the airport train. Friendly staff 24x7. Our room could have done with a spruce up, the bathroom in particular. The shower screen seal was dirty with mould and the shower head didn't stay upright on its riser so was basically pointing at the wall away from you. The sink was also far too big for the space, making it difficult to get to the toilet, more so if you were a large person. We didn't raise this with reception as we...

"The location is in a district that has no restaurants open on Mondays. All the restaurants and pubs were closed for a five block radius. I would not stay there on Mondays. If there are 2 of make sure to request an extra towel because the hotel only supplies 1 per room."
