Relax in the spacious plaza and garden outside the cathedral. The cobblestone square is pedestrianized. Capture photos of the imposing façade that is reminiscent of Paris’ Notre Dame. Enter through the main portal and then stroll through the relatively small nave to appreciate its charming, serene atmosphere. See the quaint choir and look up at the impressive ceiling pattern.

The church has its roots in the 13th century but was almost entirely rebuilt in the 1600s. It just about survived World War II with heavy damages and was restored to its original grandeur during the 20th century. Organise a guided tour at the nearby tourism office. There is a small fee, although kids and young teenagers go free.

Opening times differ, depending on the day of the week and time of year. The church tends to open from morning until late afternoon, with later opening times on Sunday and Monday.

Saint-Vulfran Cathedral is on an important road of the same name right in the centre of the city. It is a 5-minute walk east from the banks of La Somme River in a busy area full of shops and restaurants. Nearby, you will find the Beffroi, which is one of the oldest bell towers in France. There is parking outside the church.
