We did not have a good experience at this guesthouse. We had to wait an hour outside for a staff person to show up. You could smell mold in the room that started to make us sick. The room could have used a better cleaning. We asked a few times for more toilet paper and never got any. The television did not work due faulty wiring. We left the guesthouse before our reservation ended because of the mold. It's unfortunate because the guesthouse is centrally located and we were able to walk to many sights. We asked for a refund from the owner for the night we didn't stay there. He said he would try to give us one and we never heard from him again.

- No soap or shampoo - had to buy my own. - Mold on the ceiling. - Room door and front doors need to be locked with keys, from either inside or outside, which makes it extremely inconvenient and potentially unsafe in an emergency. - Location is nice - close to all the attractions of Pelourinho. However there’s live music playing until at least 2:30AM, so watch out if you can’t sleep easily.

Um pouco caro vale a localização

O lugar realmente é muito bom nas ladeiras do pelourinho... Dispõe so de dois quartos. A pessoa abre e te deixa com as chaves. Casarão antigo, mas banheiro reformado e bom... Tem frigobar, mas não tinha nem tv, nem cafe da manhã como dizia na reserva... Lugar bem agradável de um modo geral. Um pouco caro pelo o que oferece

The Hotel was super close to Pelourinho centre which was great! The breakfast was amazing with fresh juices and a variety of changing food every day! Also the staff was very very friendly and could partially speak English, which was great! I would definitely come back!

A pousada é bem localizada, o quarto era simples, porém digno. Os atendentes são muito atenciosos. A cama devia ser melhor. Mas a relação custo benefício é muito boa. A ausência de TV por assinatura tb é uma falha.

Definitely not recommended

It seems that this hotel doesn’t actually exist! The sign for the hotel is hung on the other side of a door that is the entrance to another hotel called Studio do Carmo - there’s just one entrance and nobody mentions the other hotel ever again. So make sure you check the reviews for the other hotel as that is the real one - the reviews here maybe were for a previous hotel or owner or a backup in case of bad reviews? The Studio hotel is a mixed bag - the breakfast was ok, the idea was nice but we could only eat half of it as most of the things were unappetizing and our requests to change some of the things were ignored. The view from our room was magnificent, couldn’t ask for better - the noise level was ok and made for a good atmosphere. The cold showers and the poor state of the towels and bedlinen were the worst things - we couldn’t wait to leave the hotel so we could finally have a hot shower.

Comfortable Pousada at the historic center

Our stay at the Pousada started rather stressful. I was traveling to Salvador with my parents (74 years old and 70), after a delayed flight we only arrived at the hotel at 01:30am. We were shocked about the neighborhood and building, since my father that has difficulties in moving had to climb stars until our rooms. When we arrived the room was dirty, bed lines had stains, etc we were obliged to stay, since it was almost 2am and we had no option. On the next day I’ve made my complaint and we moved rooms. From that moment on our stay was perfect. Breakfast was good, the neighborhood was beautiful and we were able to walk everywhere.

Mysigt nära stan, inte perfekt!

Okej Wi-FI, småkryp på rummet och i duschen, väldigt nära staden, så ganska högljutt på kvällarna om man ville sova, men nära till allt om man ville gå och titta. Ligger precis bredvid en superhärligt veganrestaurang (rango vegan) och ligger nära en liten affär där man kan köpa vatten, snacks och liknande. Mycket trevlig personal, tyvärr pratade de bara portugisiska och inget engelska alls.

Hotel localizado ao lado do Pelourinho. Próximo ao Elevador Lacerda e ao Mercado Central. Quarto grande, boa cama. Café da manhã servido no quarto. Excelente atendimento dos funcionários. Ótima opção.

Loved the staff!

Loved this hotel!The hotel is in the center of town in a perfect location.I love the old buildings close to the hotel and the rooms.The staff was very friendly especially the receptionist they helped us get around town and when the taxi got there to take us to the airport they asked the driver to charge us lesss than the usual😀

Uma noite no Pelourinho

O quarto e bom, mas o chão um pouco sujo e a descarga não funcionava As toalhas de banho e lençóis limpos , mas usados Coage da manhã foi muito bom, e o quarto enorme A noite som de batuques, e um ou outro barulho de conversa a noite Tirando a limpeza que não estava perfeita, o resto foi ótimo, principalmente o café da manhã Um pouco acima há a Igreja do Carmo, linda e também o convento O prédio do hotel era muito bonito , antiquicimo, prédio de 1800, nunca vi um local tão antigo para passar a noite Lindas janelas gigantes de madeira Local lindo

Boa experiência no geral, mas com pontos a melhorar. Pontos positivos: 1-Excelente e farto cafe da manhã, fresco e variado; 2-Equipe agradável e solícita. 3-Ótima localização. Pontos a melhorar: 1- limpeza dos banheiros 2- limpeza da roupa de cama 3- qualidade das camas de solteiro 4- isolação acústica para os quartos que dão para a rua 5- estabelecer um acordo de sonoridade com os comércios vizinhos que fecham tarde, mesmo em duas da semana.

Central location amidst all, terrific staff

The location is close to everything, safe, and the ambiance of the hotel is old fashioned with an architecture that sweeps you back in time but in a good way. The ceilings,doors, and windows are huge.Staff brings breakfast to your room in an immense tray filled with tasty and diverse goodies. Rooms are decorated with art for sale. No elevators and bathrooms are tiny but the rooms themselves big. Staff is quick to offer assistance, even carried our baggage with a great smile up those stairs, they are very kind.

Best location in town

One pays for the location as it is ideal to tour Salvador. Common sense prevailing, the area is safe and one can walk around at ease. Great restaurant selection close by including the restaurant/school by SENAC featuring local cuisine. BEST: Location, breakfast, old house charm and high ceilings, GOOD: Wifi, size of room, mini fridge in room COULD IMPROVE: Pillows and bed linen have seen better days. Mouldy/ humidity smell of room, closet and pillows. A note on the noise level: The area is lively, the locals are up late and start their day early. One feels part of community when staying here; for me this was positive and I enjoyed it. On the other hand, if you are looking to have a quiet vacation this is not the place.
