Everything was good just wasn’t aware there was no bathrooms in the room or shower, but the community bathroom ended up working out perfectly. Definitely recommend just wish San deigo didn’t charge to park everywhere

I gave Zindel Hotel in San Diego a 3 out of 5. The staff was friendly and helpful. Jeff at the front desk was great and extremely helpful—he actually improved my overall impression from a 1 to a 3. The cleaning staff were also very friendly and nice. The location is convenient, close to the airport and main tourist attractions (about a 5–10 minute drive). We used Uber. Little Italy nearby has a nice vibe. The rooms were very clean, and guests had access to complimentary coconut water, regular bottled water, milk, yogurt, snacks, and hot beverages, all included at no extra cost. However, there are several drawbacks. Some rooms share a bathroom, and my room, for example, had a wall very close to the window, which made it feel dark. The front desk was not always staffed—no one was there on Monday, and at times during other shifts as well. There is no early check-in unless you pay an additional fee. There was also a strong urine smell around the building on the sidewalks. Additionally, the property is not accessible for people who cannot use stairs—there are no ramps or elevators.

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel for a birthday celebration as a young couple. The hotel stay was okay, nice location, right next to Little Italy and the airport. The room size was very small for the price. They had a hidden fee of $90 for 3 day stay, which we were unaware of. And no, it is not a deposit and you don't get the money back. They said it was the "amenities/tax" fee, which is ridiculous. The amenities they talk about was a pool table and outside fire pit. We couldn't even use the coffee machine because the cups were filled with dust and gross. The water pressure in the shower was weak. Air conditioning was great. Very minimal lights in the room. The front desk LADY was standoff-ish to us and was rude to us when we asked for housekeeping and clean towels. We did not receive room service that day and we kindly asked her to take our dirty towels, which she did not do. However, when we asked the gentleman the next day for housekeeping, he was accommodating and we came back to a clean room. We did feel safe, it's a great location. When we travel we usually don't pick a mainstream hotel and give the local hotels a try. However, for the price I would maybe choose somewhere else next time. The bathroom was extremely small and had no where to put our stuff. I would give this place a 2/5. But I do appreciate the gentleman that always checked on us. It was decent enough to survive but not as comfortable, compared to other places. It was okay!

This is not a hotel—it’s an unstaffed, poorly managed apartment building being marketed as one. There is no front desk, no onsite staff, and access to the property relies entirely on keypad entry with no real-time support. During my stay, I was locked in a stairwell and unable to exit, and no one responded when I reached out for help. That alone should disqualify this place from being listed as a hotel. The “suites” are located down a dark, ground-level corridor that feels more like an alley than a hotel hallway, with direct access out to the street. I’ve included photos so others can see exactly what this looks like. It does not resemble a hotel environment and does not feel secure or properly managed. There is also no onsite parking. The property is on a one-way street, and guests are directed to find street parking or park near the highway and walk. This is completely impractical, especially if you have luggage. The experience is completely misrepresented. You are essentially on your own in a maze of locked doors with no assistance if something goes wrong. It’s also extremely loud—they literally provide earplugs in the room, which tells you everything you need to know about the lack of sound insulation. When I raised these issues as safety concerns, they were dismissed and I was told the reservation was non-refundable. This isn’t about preference—it’s about a property that is not safely or properly operated. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here.

AC was quiet, the staff friendly and informative, towels soft and the location perfect. Walk to amazing food, the Embarcadero, and watch the sun set over the water from a rooftop bar. Walk to Balboa Park and the zoo. Hop the trolley or coaster for added adventure. Its all there.

None of the confirmation texts or emails ever went thro, I HAD to reach out multiple times to get my room registered etc. Wasnt aware it was a shared bathroom til after confirmation, room fan didnt work and no one brought a fan like i was told. Looked like the double booked a room and gave access to someones room, this play was just a mess and trying to find parking just wasnt worth any of it. Bare min was a working ac and a clean bed to sleep in at least
