Was not impressed with The Buoy. We booked the "Premium Apartment" which lists, among other things, a separate bedroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a yard. The room we were assigned had NONE of those things. It was essentially a hotel room. Definitely not ideal for four adults. Please look closely at the appropriate pictures for the room you book because their definition of the amenities listed above is certainly not in line with what a normal person would expect.
Beyond that, the bathroom lacked a fan so the humidity after taking a shower prevented you from even being able to dry off. There also was only one towel rack - not enough for four adults to dry their towels.
I will say that the room was clean and the area felt safe. A lot of street noise at night though.
I tried to address my concerns with management the night we checked in and was basically told the room had all the amenities listed so there was nothing they'd do to fix it. I can tell you if you plan on booking The Buoy just for sleeping it will probably suffice. However if you plan on making meals there and being able to spread out and relax at night - like we had planned to do - this is NOT the property for you.
This is the first negative review I've given on Expedia for a property. I don't take this lightly, but I did give them the opportunity to put us in a room like they advertised and was told there is nothing they will do. And to top everything off - there was no free bottle of wine either.
