"This tranquil hotel is a highlight of our trip. Such a peaceful place. Nice rooms, great beds, entertainment room, full kitchen for guest use and a delicious breakfast is available. Highly recommended and not far from SJO airport. The staff was very helpful and so nice!"

"It was exactly as it was listed. Thank goodness for the fan in the room, otherwise no AC was rough. Great area to walk around and explore local stores and sodas. The owner was so helpful and nice! The shared shower was clean, wish there were more places to hang your things though. Requesting bfast was odd bc you had to go find her, I felt weird getting into her person home space. "We had a great stay at Tango Mar. The owner always greeted us each day to see how we were or how our day was. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! I took advantage of the spa and had an incredible massage. Gorgeous views of the ocean right out your window and the multiple pools to cool off in with the heat. Swimming beaches were a short drive away if you wanted to swim in the ocean."

"Beautiful rooms and area. Lovely and quiet. One note to mention, the beach across the road is not the crystal blue waters as the sand is dark. It’s also a busy area for fishing so we didn’t swim. There’s some nice restaurants within walking distance and a great grocery store. "

"Our stay at Barceló Playa Tambor was okay overall. We traveled with a group, so we joined the trip, but otherwise this would not have been my first choice. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an ocean-view room, which was a nice upgrade. However, the room smelled stuffy, as if the windows hadn't been opened in a long time. The food was average. "The property is beautiful, Tomas is incredibly helpful and passionate, comfy bed, nice pools, yummy breakfast (bread/ jellies, coffee/tea, juice, fresh fruits, eggs) & close to beaches and Bioluminescent tour in secluded area so plenty of nature to enjoy. "We booked all 3 pods for a 1 night stay on the way back to the airport after touring Costa Rica and all were excellent, privately located with an outdoor kitchen, toilet, shower, balcony and jacuzzi. Although quite remote, they do offer a takeaway delivery service from a local restaurant, and the town is approx 15 minutes away.
