Simple-clean-300 feet from beach

Simple-not fancy- 2 blocks from beach in fun part of town, you should expect noisy nights but my nice new air conditioner fan made it so I could hardly hear all the noise outside

The property is perfectly situated. Walking distance to everything. There's a store next door which was convenient. They are very strict with their check-in time which was not so nice. We were visiting for an event a little earlier check-in would have allowed us to get ready for the event we were visiting the island. The shower, we couldn't get the hot to work (could be an us issue but just couldn't) and the water doesn't drain normal, it builds up and take quite a while to drain. Apart from that it was a pleasant stay. I love convenience and felt it was a little lacking.

Smell of sewer, bathroom needs a little renovation starting with changing the old faucets. After pay that much, I could not even use the towels provided. The management can do better by reinvesting some of the money they make.

Had a blast! The room was so comfortable I wish I was able to spend more time in it. 😆 Fantastic location in the center of town with a ton of restaurants right there and markets for back to the room stuff. Staff was very friendly too!

Barking dogs woke me up

It was clean and in a very convenient location. But each night dogs would be barking outside the hotel and wake me up. There was no explanation as to why they would be there...but they were. Even the night time security gurad wouldn't deter them

Overall, my stay at the Voyager Sun Reef Hotel in San Pedro, Belize fell short of expectations in several ways. ## Expectations vs. Reality The photos on the hotel's website are significantly better than the reality you'll encounter upon arrival. This discrepancy between marketing materials and the actual property was one of the most disappointing aspects of my stay. ## Noise Levels Despite previous reviews mentioning the quiet atmosphere, I found the external noise levels to be noticeable and disruptive. This contradicted what I had read in other reviews, which had influenced my booking decision. ## Staff Interactions While the staff was generally welcoming, I experienced an uncomfortable situation regarding visitors. When I had a friend come to my room, a staff member approached me in what felt like a non-chalant manner to remind me of the hotel's policy prohibiting non-guests. The interaction was handled poorly and left me feeling embarrassed in front of my friend. The staff could benefit from training on how to enforce policies with more tact and discretion, perhaps by addressing such matters privately rather than creating potentially uncomfortable situations for guests.

The property itself is so convenient to the water taxis and that is great. Its a 5 min walk. The front desk staff was very helpful. The room was clean, bed was comfy and fridge was cold. The AC was very nice. My room was on the 3rd floor, that was daunting and difficult with large bags. No elevator. There’s accommodations for w/c’s. The hotel itself looks fairly new considering what’s surrounding it. There’s a little corner store directly in front and a super market diagonally 200 ft behind the hotel. It’s very convenient. Kirsten and Ivan are extremely accommodating. You need Netflix or you won’t be watching tv. Walls are THIN. This hotel is central to everything and I did enjoy and appreciate that. Hot water and water pressure was pretty good and the house keepers were sweet and did a great job. My only real complaint is if you rent a cart to drive, you park it out in front of the hotel and nobody polices that area. I would come down at night & men would be hanging all on the cart I rented, drinking, sitting, many times they’d complain that they’d have to move to me & leave there trash on it. That made me very uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. There’s an unfriendly man that sits outside that I guess is security & he doesn’t secure anything because he’s just watching these guys loiter on the cart you paid for and is responsible for if anything happens to it. They definitely need to either enforce security. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. I would stay again.
