"The staff were incredible and very helpful and kind. Alex was great. The hotel is right next to a beautiful beach, which was great. The rooms are like apartments and are a bit difficult to get to, but they were clean. The air conditioning in them doesn’t work too well (rooms were extremely hot when we arrived and only went down 1 degree after an entire day of the air being on). This is a FAMILY RESORT so there are many kids around."

We were a party of six adults with different tastes and priorities but we all found everything we wanted at Mon Port. The food and drink were excellent, especially at breakfast and dinner. The pool and fitness facilities were superb: despite the large number of guests here in August, nothing seemed overcrowded. Thanks to fantastically efficient air-conditioning, the rooms were always comfortable. We had read that there would be extra charges for using WiFi and the safe in the rooms, but...

My boyfriend and I had a lovely week at this hotel. We were self catering apartments (although this was a surprise to us, I thought we were room only!) so did not try breakfast or dinner however the hotel is lovely, clean, staff are polite and friendly. Large pool area, never once struggled to get a sunbed (in July!). Pool bar well stocked and reasonably priced for the area (soft drink 3.30). Free pool towels daily. Free wifi worked well. Lovely peaceful hotel friendly helpful staff, excellent layout and wonderful views from whatever room you have all seem to overlook the sea/beach/pool, drinks and food are a little pricey. 4.50 Euros for a half litre bottle is frankly absurd, hence why I’d buy bottles from the spa Over the road for less than a Euro a litre. 7 euro for a beer and much more for spirits I think 14 for a gin and tonic, If the drinks prices where a little more reasonable I’m sure more guests would enjoy lovely bars...

I’ve stayed in 5* hotels around the world. What stood out here was the entire staff genuinely making us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Little things- we wanted to go into town so asked for a taxi- they said no need, we’ll take you in the hotel car. And just let us know when you finish your meal for the return trip. We have some water for your taxi ride so you can stay hydrated on the airport journey. And more. Will definitely go back.

Secrets Villamil is a fantastic hotel, high quality, and very relaxing environment. The staff are all friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They even gave us a free upgrade to a larger room with large balcony compared to what we had originally booked. The room was very spacious and comfortable and like the rest of the hotel it was spotlessly clean. We don't normally take the half board option but were delighted we did as the food selection, quality and dining service was excellent...

Having travelled the world extensively for many years we have stayed in many hotels but this boutique hotel stands out as probably the best overall experience we have ever had anywhere. The hotel is situated on a beautiful, tree-lined boulevard in the most select part of the city. Our room (number 6) was palatial and very quiet at all times.
