The area was conveniently located to shops, restaurants and various wineries. Our room was quiet, didn't hear traffic noise but landscaping work could have been done a bit later in the day. The daily breakfast were delicious with varied menu. The happy hour was also good with white and red wine and excellent charcuterie. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

room was spacious and elegant with fireplace, enchanting patio. there were several outdoor seating areas with fire rings. there was a social hour with wine and cheeses. beautiful chandeliers throughout and artistic glass in doors etc.

The property was exquisitely decorated and the room we had #202 was beautiful. Lots of space, wonderful bed. The only thing I might suggest is to have king size pillows on the bed , much more comfortable than regular size pillows. The restaurant attached, the Victor, had fabulous food, so much so we went back another night. Overall we’re enormously happy we came upon this hotel and look forward to staying there sometime soon.

Best couples spot ever!

Complimentary charcuterie and wine, dessert at night and free breakfast of the best caliber. Full tub and high vaulted ceilings, fireplace and patio what more could you ask for? Robes and slippers? They got you on those too!

We had our dachshund with us for a two day stay. All dog rooms are downstairs so very convenient taking him out to the many green areas. We had breakfast brought to our room each morning, and enjoyed the muffins and fruit before the meals arrived. We picked up our meals each night, lots of choices. Enjoyed the cookies that were out each night also. We had a lovely stay, and will definitely be returning.

Breakfast was very disappointing. My wife ordered an omelette three times and they got it wrong each time (she gave up). For the amount of money I spent on this room I expected more. In addition, the "happy hour" wine & cheese was equally disappointing.

Magnificent! Everything about this hotel is wonderful, it is an underrated, first class, gem. The rates are very reasonable, making it an exceptional value. We stayed at two different hotels on this trip the Genevieve and another, both similarly rated. However, the Genevieve was miles ahead on every level. I’ve stayed at some very fine hotels, in many parts of the world and The Genevieve is right up with the best of them. The nice thing about this hotel, it has all that you would expect from a luxurious, first class accommodation, but without the pretentiousness. It is quiet, comfortable, a place you immediately feel relaxed. The architecture, grounds and interior are beautiful, private and accommodating. The only unfortunate thing, our stay was on the two days The Victor is closed, won’t make that mistake on our next visit.

The Genevieve is a wonderful hotel in San Ynez. Walking distance to some great restaurants & shops. The rooms are large and comfortable with big bathrooms. In the evening they offer wine and desserts. Breakfast is included with two choices daily.

Fantastic Stay

This was our first time staying at The Genevieve. We were very pleased with our room and appreciated having two valets to use! Bathroom was spacious (though could have used more lighting) and nice having a balcony. Breakfast was included and bikes were available for use. Location was perfect as we were attending an event at Gainey Winery, which was just down the street.
