"Hotel is being remodeled at the moment so the bar and restaurant are closed. They did have cart in the main dining room that served as a bar and they served food. My wife and a couple friends raved about the lobster Mac and cheese. I skipped dinner. We had to have a defective plug in the bathroom replaced, which they did the same day we reported it. Short walk and shuttle service for Universal Studios Amusement Park which is the main reason we stayed there. All in all, a good hotel. Pricing is not necessarily budget friendly. We would stay there again if we go back to Universal."

"Room was small , smelled like sewage, overall gross feeling. Listened to sirens all night and no sleep. The pool looked dirty and had stuff floating in it. Light switches were broke. But honestly it was the smell of the place that was the worst even the lobby smelled like feces "

"Room was very clean and recently updated. Bar and food were great! Staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant had wonderful food and ambiance. Would definitely return and recommend it. Very happy with my stay. Enjoyed it very much."

"Family of 4 stayed here for 1 night , we spent the day in L.A . We chose this hotel for the movie history it has. Overall it did its job in being a place to sleep so we didn’t have to make the drive home after a long day in Los Angeles. The only downfall that I have to say about this place on my end is the beds. The beds were not comfortable for me and my family. We had a room with two double beds and we were four adults sharing two on each bed. There was a lot of tossing and turning, and I personally woke up with kind of a sore back. But there was a coffee maker in the room that serves purpose so that was handy, and there was a mini fridge that we were able to put our leftovers in from dinner. And one shocker for us was that we were really close to the road and we didn’t hear the cars at all during our day so that was actually a plus. We did pay for parking which is $25 a night which wasn’t bad and it wasn’t outrageous. The restaurant was under construction so we were not able to explore and enjoy that part of the hotel. But me and my family did take a lot of pictures in front of the Safari Inn sign haha, and we did a walk around the property to look at everything. This was a one and done deal for us. It was kind of a check off our bucket list type stay."

"There was hair in our bathroom when we walked in. Several strands on the floor, in the bathtub and on our towels. Also, the water turned off in the middle of the night and no one informed us of any scheduled off time during check in. I wouldn’t stay here again. "
