Looking for a place in Mindo - stay here! I don’t think we’ve ever come across a more helpful hotel owner and staff. We had to move our booking a couple of times because of illness and that was all AOK. The owner was constantly making sure we had everything we wanted , clean towels for the pool or room, plenty of drink8ng water. Really generous and tasty breakfasts. Fantastic little hotel just on the edge of Mindo just minutes walk to the main street. Very clean and Margarit could not have been more helpful. Breakfast area is beautiful overlooking the forest with hummingbirds and other wildlife in front of you!

Great experience at Sachatamia lodge. Welcoming staff despite language barrier. Great setting within the cloud forest with plenty of bird feeders to attract the local species. Great location for birding in and around the Mindo area with local bird guide Alex (who was excellent and speaks very good English) based nearby. Highly recommended.

The staff could not have done more for us. From the very beginning they were communicative friendly welcoming and when we arrived they were so warm. It was our honeymoon and they’d put some flowers in the room which was such a nice touch. The location is great, the room lovely (albeit not quite soundproof so bring earplugs!!!) we really loved our stay here thank you

We entered Ecuador completely blind not knowing what to expect and on arrival were met by a national strike, riots and soldiers on the streets, suffice to say we were a little scared. The house would go unnoticed from the road but just wait until Mario opens the door to let you in! The quality of the guesthouse is clear to see and the welcome from Mario and his wife Blanca is an absolute delight after a long journey.

This is an amazing hotel converted from an extensive colonial building, now a luxurious place to stay. The price was cheaper than many other hotels. The architecture is fascinating, the food was good, the rooms were great. Will definitely go there again, and probably stay in this hotel whenever I go to Quito, which is likely to be often since my son has moved from UK to Mindo now!
