"A gem of a hotel tucked well away in it's own extensive grounds. We were upgraded to one of the 5 suites which was extremely spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was great and staff very helpful. We will definitely stay again."

"Lovely hotel. Room was well appointed, clean, neat and very comfortable. The entire ambiance of the hotel was lovely. Understated opulence. However, let down, in my opinion, by the restaurant. Clearly a very popular spot and very large (but feels homely by the way it is spread around and compartmentalised (in a nice way) the food is expensive and simply not value for money. Fancy for the sake of fancy and barely adequate in terms of quality. Problem is the hotel is too remote to go anywhere...

"Great stay however the rooms were not overly clean. It seems housecleaning need to rush to get rooms ready and do a basic wipe over, but it is not really to the standard expected of a 4star hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and grounds and common areas were very nice. Food a little disappointing (plates hot but breakfast not). With some attention to detail this property would be really good 😊"

"A lovely welcome by the reception staff. No problems with the room and had a good breakfast. The only very small thing I noticed was some not very clean public areas, such as the stairs and the outside windows in the staircase (very dirty). Hokwever, they did not affect our stay. Slightly disappointed that we had to pay for hotel car parking. Very central location, handy for the city centre and easy to navigate to."

"Nice place above a nice bar. Had some food and it was fine and a few drinks. Nice atmosphere and well situated in the town. Room was fine, settee was a bit big for the room but you can see what they are trying to do. Young woman who showed us round was nice and so too the young woman at breakfast."

"Hotel is a great price and is a little tired but comfortable and you have what you need for a stop over. Unfortunately chef took ill so couldn’t eat there but menu looked good. Instead they recommended the Dam Inn which was amazing food!"

"Everything about our stay was very good. Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Large bath with very hot water . Kettle with tea, coffee , biscuits etc , hairdryer and iron. Dinner was good and the breakfasts were freshly prepared. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar and the prices were very reasonable. Staff Lovely and friendly, will certainly think of returning. "
