"Great location, with loads of parking in the area and really close to the station (handy to get to Newcastle) and the seaside.

The best thing overall was the cafe, in which we went for all the three days. Hats off! The staff was amazing, and they could accommodate our...

"A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely.
We checked in at the bar, which was busy. They were not serving food, but encouraged us to get takeaway (there's a Chinese chippy next door) and provided us plates and cutlery. Their drinks are inexpensive.

"First and foremost the property was clean, functional and offered value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, although our experience of room service was let down by dirty cups being left.

Based on reviews I expected a little more than we got....
